In Balika Vadhu, Dadisa asked anandi to breakup with Shiv and chose Jagiya when he returned back, even Shiv tried to make the graceful exit from her life so that she doesn't have to face the choice, but Anandi chose Shiv over Jagiya, even though she wasn't in love with Shiv yet. It took it long time for her to finally love Shiv with all her heart & soul.

So, I am not surprised with the writer bringing this twist of dida having heart attack and asking Mauli to reconsider mending her relationship. It's on writer how she wants the message to go out for Mauli's character. If Mauli has to go as strong, then she will let go of Kunal since Kunal isn't a property to hold onto against the wish. If weak, then she will be shown as someone who fell for Dida's emotional wish which is not a good thing. Oldies often do things like this as they think it will set everything right without considering how hard is it for the person to do what they want to do.

I hope dida herself realizes what she is asking of Mauli after knowing the depth to which Kunal-Nandini have gone.

It is normal for elders in the family to see if they can help the family from breaking. So it is Didas prerogative to ask children to see if theres any scope to save the marriage. But NOT her place to force/tell Mauli to forgive. In the end its Maulis call and her call is final. It should be respected by all. But to ask the kids to talk it out and then reach a decision is realistic and not blackmail.

I actually too want Mauli to move on from Kunal like Anandi and Arth movie. It would send a very strong message that u cant take your spouse for for a ride. But I get why some in her shoes would opt to try to save the marriage. And their reasons/feelings are not invalid. Its upto Mauli in the end.

My close friends parents story::
Her dad moved to US while the wife + kids were still in India. He got into a relationship with a lady here. Her mom came to know much later but by then the lady was already out of his life. Her mom forgave although it was a traumatic period for her. Now they are a rocking couple. Celebrated there 25th anniversary and seem extremely happy. My friend says that her mom and dad are extremely close and made for each other.
