I haven't watched DMG but I have watched her in geet and trust me she was no where a vibrating crying, scared deer. The show had its own faults but Geet was a strong willed person who had the guts to stand up after Dev cheats her and her own family asked her to forget all that and just move on.. somewhat like what happened to mauli today happened to her though the intensities are completely different but as compared to mauli who is self dependent, financially strong and has a lovely family support, geet had none, she was a village girl and her own family wanted her dead and still she shined through those adversaries. And Drashti aced that role, I think even today that is her most celebrated role and chemistry with Gurmeet just helped.
I haven't watched the rest of her shows much, but in this show, she is completely on the opposite side of the spectrum.. she is the one who cheats here, she's the one who's wrong in this case but this cry baby is like the Indian prototype for all the characters.. I don't think there is anything else to choose for a lead expect being out and out villain., which I don't know if she would ever want to be.
Her character Nandini is supposed to be scared and weak because that's what years of abuse does to you, not commenting on the immorality she has committed, rajdeep's abuse has destroyed her self esteem and ruined her for life. I don't think she can regain her normal life without getting psychiatric help and Kunal should have had some sense to do that after seeing the emotional abuse Rajdeep inflicted on her in front of his own eyes. But he believed in sex therapy.. that's another point.. 🤬

I have seen actors trying to act, speak and cry in different ways...but DD never changes her style. She is always the same.

She probably has been doing the same thing over and over again, it comes easy and she doesn't want to step out of the comfort zone. I wish she took up some mytho or vampish roles , different from what she has done. Or maybe she never got such offers. She hasn't been in any show after geet where she didn't shake or cry like nandini does. Not saying she is bad at what she does but its repititive

Well, it's my opinion that she acts the same in all her shows. The same style of crying, moving neck muscles too much, same dialogue delivery, shivering her lips all the time, giving same type of facial expressions. Maya was an angsty character so she got to act a little differently from her other characters... but otherwise, be it Riddhima of DMG, Kumud, Zoya , Ganga, etc...she has been the same.In Beypannah she is acting so much like Riddhima. No improvisation.
We differ in our opinion , so peace out.

All of her crying scenes are the exact same. What the hell? All she does is vibrate.

Look at Aditi. Her crying was AMAZING. Even when she was crying, her enunciations are perfect. Drashti is only good at romantic scenes. Aditi is an all-rounder and definitely a better actress than Drashti.

Lol what even? Aditi and DD are playing TWO COMPLETELY OPPOSITE CHARACTERS in this show!Mouli is supposed to be CONFIDENT HAPPY CHEERFUL AMBITIOUS and Nandini is supposed to be DOCILE UNDERCONFIDENT ANXIOUS SHAKY and DEPRESSED. Nandini isnt a NORMAL character. She is an abuse victim and hence her body language is going to be like people who have suffered from severe physical and mental abuse! Why should she cry the way Aditi/Mouli does when Mouli and her are two different people having different experiences shaping up both their body language and physicalities? You should do some research work on body language actually. N's constant shivering and shaking gives out her extreme anxiety and lack of confidence unlike Mouli who is extremely STRONG WILLED and CONFIDENT.This has more to do with characterisation than acting.

And how does someone cry in 100 different ways? Do we as humans cry differently at different times? No right. Then how do we expect an actor to cry differently each time? 😕 She has played N beautifully and made even the most gory difficult scenes worth watching. Her character here is SUPPOSED to suffering from depression and anxiety after her years of abuse and she has actually brilliantly incorporated it in her body language with the shivering and shaking. If anything she needs to be lauded for it.

Her characters are different on paper...but when it comes to portraying those characters onscreen, she gives the same set of expressions.

I like dd she is great in emotional scenes but her roles r getting repititve. This role could've been her masterstroke but cvs ruined it for her. They could've turned her into seductress like pc in aitraaz and Drl d could've got chance to prove her in grey role as she has d body n looks for it. But in then end they gave her crying role again

I hv differnt opinion. Her roles were different fro DMG to Silsila. In Dmg she was bubbly doc and almost all her scenes were comedy scenes .As she was new at that time her emotional scenes were bad at that time. Then she did geet .Geet she displayed various shades from like in starting she was shown innocent and submissive later she became brave and turned from strong woman who was victim of fraud andhonor killing .Later her character geet became bubbly and after that she played gal in love and her romantic scenes with maan are still memorable. Then she played madhubala which was mature character and she nailed it too .Others roles were good too except naina which was ofcourse poorly written .Again in silsila i think she is playing different character which has grey and black shades becoz this character is not good she is playing selfish woman who thinks about herself only and hide behind her innocence as she thinks she is very innocent .About rona dhona scenes i will be honest with you most of shows get trps on rona dhona of female leads only so we see female leads crying on itv in almost every show.if no rona dhona no trps. You will hardly find any female leads on itv who don't use glycerine in every second scene. About modulation hv you seen her emotional scenes in DMG they were so bad that i use to laugh at them but from then she has come long way she has brought intensity in her emOtional scenes which was missing when she was new to tv. And you are talking about same expressions i think expression are natural they can't be changed every person has its pwn way smiling laughing crying and venting .Facial expression can't be modified much you just hv to act naturally otherwise it wilI look forced.Iwill not say drashti is mindblowing actress she has her own limitations but she is better than actresses on itv who are just give one expression.

I agree. Not saying DD is not a good actress, she does excel at these type of roles and does them really well. I think she is in a comfort zone and never moves out of it. It is a daring role to take on for sure, considering the backlash, but the nature of her character is similar to other roles and require the same skillset. Throughout the affair track, Nandini has been a one dimensional character showing no acknowledgement or thought behind her actions after screwing her best friends husband.
Also please Jenny has taken on Maya which was an outright negative role and was outstanding, so please do not compare. Maya is much more challenging than Nandini any given day. The role may be controversial but the character is one you see in all other serials - a beautiful girl who is timid and needs to be saved by testosterone filled Kunal.

And yes this argument did not need Jenny to be brought in as the discussion is about DD. I reiterate I do not blame her for choosing these roles because in the Indian TV industry these are the typical roles one gets.

Well then you should go back and watch her shows again. I see absolutely nothing similar between a Muskan and Nandini in terms of acting or a Geet and Rani gayatri or even Savitri a parallel character she played in ETR with Haryanvi accent where she absolutely nailed the Haryanvi and body language of a maid. The amount of intensity she brought with Nandini just shows how much she has grown as an actor. If it was six seven years back I don't think she might have pulled it off as well as she's doing today.Experience makes all the difference.
