True, actually kumbhkaran praised Lakshman and went on to fight Shri Ram.

Kumbhkaran is dead. Just 2 episodes after waking up, he is gone. Sad.

Kumbhakarna was dead in very less time according to VR. Before that he defeated Hanuman, Angada, Sugriva

I don't fully remember the original series or story, but does Kumbhkaran last longer in them than he did here? Or did they rush through his part of the story in this series?
