These early episodes really make me realize how Shaurya’s eyes were void of emotions and his lack of humor! The evolution is magical!

This is not just Mr. Bhalla’s problem, this thought.

This is the problem with the thinking of Indian/Asian parents. They think of their kids as their assets, their commodities, their personal properties, to be molded n shaped as per their wishes. They forget that every individual has the right to make decisions for themselves!

This is why the root idea of kanyadaan is wrong. Women are not property to be traded from father to husband!

Episode 9:

Anokhi trying to fix the trophy...indicates she is trying prepare herselves for future challenges.Every insult,every slap,every physical injury she faced...she vowed to self to achieve her goals.

What a good way to start!Babli gave her shoes.Nikki wants to fly and they will help her run first.(They will fly later).I liked how Nikki asked for food and Babli's response was epic.Daant khaa liya, Maar bhi khaa liya,Ab khaana bhi khaayegi!

Anokhi registers herself for SIAC entrance exam.She notices birth control pills taken by Babli.

Special mention to Bablu's presence of mind.Husband not settled financially and Babli not allowed to work.How can they raise kids?Vineet cannot mint more money from Bhalla .So Babli...shabash puttar.

Devi managed to pacify Phulka sabherwal sorry Tej by giving perfect phulka.Actually she has successfully shut his mouth by giving him phulka.She was also irrirated by Beeji's phulka comment yesterday.Tej wants Shaurya to get married onnthe same day he was supposed to get married to Shagun.His choice .....small town girl who can look after house properly and make rotis.Kanchan's look to Tej was as if she is asking him..What was fuss few minutes,ago about class!

Devi wants a good looking punjaban who looks nice with Shaurya.Ladki hai koi coat nahi jo Shaurya pe jache.Rajya member and Shaurya!!!!!!Entering politics!She wants to stay true to punjabi roots.No body has seen how sad he was.That gloomy look on his face craving for love.Shaan enters and Shaurya masks up his sadness and says he would leave the house if ShaStha reunite.Shaan was surprised Shaurya met Aastha.Alok and Tej s bitter words bother him and speaks in support of Aastha.Where was this 25 years back Shaan sabherwal?

Aastha....what a majestic lady! Elegance personified.She commands respect wherever she is with her personality.Aastha is a hero of the story (After Shaurya and Anokhi)I believe.The way she shuts Mr Bhalla through her assertive words is treat to watch.Mr.Bhalla realises he cannot speak logic like her and the hold she has on Nikki is strong.This teacher student jodi scenes areamazing to watch anyday.They potray emotions quite organically.They feed each other cake.When she was about yo hu Nikki she gets yo kniw about her injuries.Neither Nikki has shown het suffering nor Aastha has sympathised.Awards of bravery they called her injuries.

Shaan knocks Shaurya's room while he was looking at a magazine which featured himself.Normally parents would brag,feel proudof such achievements but here he was looking at his own achievements(a scene similar to Anokhi fixing trophy)Both are alone to celebrate thrir victories.Shaurya was so sad..But allshaan could care was Did he take blessings from her.Seriously!! Did you play any role in preserving her memories with Shaurya?Did you not neglect your boy and remain aloof all these years?

Shaurya s reply was on point.He asked if as a father Shaan would like to know anything about his son?Shaan realises Shaurya being poisoned by Devi beyond repair.

Warmth missing in any relationship creates so much distance between people that it might take eons to bridge tbe gap.

Kanyadaan actually means transfering the respobsibility of a daughter by a father to the groom.Till now father has been taking care of his daughter but now the husband should take this responsibility.It is not because she cannot take care of herselves it is because he is giving his daughter to groom's family for taking their generation forward and she belongs to groom's family too.All the mantras,all the actions which carry a significant meaning are not all explained to anyone getting married.

Kanyadaan ho jaata hai par kanya ka dhyaan koi rakhta nahi.Truly said Daughter is not property to be traded.

Shaurya did this to Anokhi in the library. He took out his insecurities on her. Calling her characterless.

Aastha and Shaurya are quite alike, no one ever knows when is going on in their hearts and minds. They hud their hurt very well and are equally savage with their replies. Only if shaurya could see it.

I love that both of them have a certain swag. Their savagery is applause worthy. Mother-son scenes were always great.

I found the moment between tej and devi over phulka cute. Did anyone catch that eyelock? 🤣Still a better marriage than Alok's or Yash's!!!!!

Totally caught that. They had a similar moment during Holi too. Tejvi are a much successful marriage in terms of strength in relationship than any other in Sabherwal house. ShaKhi surpassed them in having strength but also love and equality in the marriage.

Sabs don't realise how love can bind people and give them strength. You can love someone from afar. This oversight on their part is why they could never understand shakhi or break them. They don't value love. Nor did Shaurya..well.. until...you know..

Exactly! They also thought that what worked with Aastha and Shaan would work with Anokhi and Shaurya but forgot that ShaKhi is the newer and stronger model of Shastha.

The scene that broke my heart, shaan and shaurya. This 29 year old man is trying to get his father's attention for his achievements (magzine) and all his father wants to know is if Astha asked about him. It must be heartbreaking to have parents who could not care. 😭

This scene continues to hurt my heart. 🥺 These are the scenes that allowed me to overlook a lot of Shaurya’s early character flaws.

Side note : Devi's comment on a beautiful Punjabi girl came true. He did find himself one

Anokhi is small town and beautiful and Punjaban!! Too bad she didn’t name all the qualities she didn’t want.

Side note 2: No wonder people felt the earlier episodes were slow and dragged. They were not, it's just that the FL was not swooning over a boy or put forward as a good girl. Also, for 15-20 episodes the ML and FL don't have eyelocks.

Yes!! ITV requires the meet cute to happen early and to have repeated fall and catch to really solidify who are destined for each other. This is why most shows don’t get a solid story foundation.

How could Shaan expect Shaurya to take blessings from his mother knowing the resentment he has for his mother. No one in their right frame of mind try to question a 29 year old who doesn’t address the person as his mother. No wonder Shaan couldn’t earn an iota of respect from his son. He has grown up seeing his father neglect him and sob away days in his wife’s memory. I understand that he loves his wife but that shouldn’t have been the cause of neglect of a 4 year old who needs utmost attention, care and Love. My heart goes out to Shaurya who really wasn’t loved by anyone unconditionally. If I felt really uncomfortable in the Shaan Shaurya scene as an audience one can imagine what Shaurya must’ve gone through.

Shaan is so maddening. Shaurya has a missing mom and absent dad. Shaurya took Shaan’s blessing on engagement day so halfheartedly and only after Tejvi. Why does Shaan think Shaurya would want Aastha’s aashirwaad? Shaurya finding unconditional love after 25 years is sad but also makes me happy for ShaKhi.
