I didn't even realize that I have began liking this show so much that I am actually going back and randomly watching some old episodes. I do wonder if CVs will ever revisit these episodes to realize their real theme of the show was to show - the immense strength of each character. Episodes 34-36 we see Shaurya's determination to stop Nikki from achieving her dreams but Nikki winning anyway! He had actually gone

So, last night I began with watching those episodes which were mainly around Nikki escaping her wedding and hiding in the Shaurya's car after escape.

I do wonder if teachers like Astha even really exist. She seems to one of those epitome of guru who would go to great lengths to support her eligible student.

I am particularly keep on flashing back to the episode 34- 36 where Anokhi was to pay for her admission and submit "Transfer Certificate" I never knew it was popular issue even in the past like these episodes😆 ...

Here are a few things I do realize seeing those episodes -

  1. Anokhi was always affected by Shaurya's opinion about her. In these episodes he actually called her chor and some other things. Hence, character assassination scene makes sense now. Back then Astha had convinced her and this time only Shaurya could. But biggest drawback here is that in these episodes when Astha stood by Anokhi, she promised Astha that she would achieve her dreams - that junoon has turned Sooooooo dry now!! Why???
    Image
  2. Two women surrounded by men (Alok, Shaurya, Vineet, Guards, Shaan) ready to attack them (except for Shaan of course) and Astha standing firm on her grounds of supporting Anokhi, providing her with evidences and speaking up for her. So, seems like Anokhi always had to have someone's back to speak up for her at times - Astha, Rama and now it's Shaurya! But atleast she had desire to prove herself. But that whole scene was whole picture of show's theme.
    Image
  3. As much as Astha-Astha were shown to be adorable couple with the most miserable love story, I don't know why they kept blaming each other Shaurya's behavior and attitude? Seriously!
  4. Shaurya's jealousy towards Anokhi! Damn... that hatred he had, the whole purpose of not having her in SIAC and vowing to ensure he will cut short her dreams when she still made it through with help of so many people! He was filled with rage, hatred and all the negative emotions - The only thing that has actually remained consistent over so many episodes is his anger, first towards Anokhi-Astha and now towards Ahir. The parallel scene here was Anokhi was excited to get her ID card and Shaurya was looking at her application with envy and rage, throwing around things 🤪 in fit of rage! He said something like "Tumhari umeedein and irado ko mein kamyab nai hone dene wala..." and Anokhi in parallel said "Ab bas apni mehnat, atmavishvas ke saath saare sapne sach kar dikhane hai" How the hell does he have so many trophies?
    Image
  5. A cherry dialogue from Astha to Anokhi - "Apne jazbaaton ko apni taakat bana na kabhi bhi kamzori mat bane dena..." Haan bhai... ab toh she has gone pretty kamzor here... isse accha toh Kapurthala mein thi...

My question is, do CVs remember these scenes of their show? I hope we get to deal with hell lot of biases and sadness this show had...

So, basically the show had started off with such a strong message and powerful scenes, they continue to be powerful, but somewhere characters have lost the charm - including Astha and Anokhi! Shaurya is the only one to remain on the graph of what he represented when the show started.

🤣 Trust me, had they not shown those car scenes of him admiring Anokhi and description of his ideal woman, I would have assumed he is seeking revenge on Anokhi as per point number 4 after seeing these episodes.

Thanks for the recapitulation.

Teachers like Aastha are difficult for find but yes there are some like her who could go to any lengths to see that a life is not ruined. Ironically she ruined her own child's life even if it was unintentional.

Anokhi's earlier spark is definitely missing. Among all these internal and external conflicts, she seems to have forgotten (or rather the CVs) her own promise.

Shaurya has forgotten his jealousy of Anokhi wrt Aastha, now Ahir is his main opponent.

Shaan and Aastha's library conversation was badly done. Both the dialogues and the acting. They came across as very insensitive towards their own son. That was when the entire fandom turned against these two.

Anokhi's jazbaat are definitely overpowering her. She is completely devoid of agency. It seems like Shaurya is doing everything and she is only reacting. She has become a passive character.

Same with Aastha. Missing the badass Aastha. She has been dumbed down. I so wished that she calls Shaan out for drowning himself in alcohol and neglecting Shaurya. After all it is for him that she did not fight for Shaurya. ( though her reasons keep changing😆 )

The initial episodes were bomb! I think I randomly started watching on Hotstar without any expectations and got hooked onto it. Regarding point 4, it’s true that Shaurya shows such disdain against Anokhi, it stems from his mistrust in her as she’s his mom’s student. It’s a mix of emotions for Shaurya- anger, hatred, self-pity and jealousy. He sees how supportive Aastha is towards Anokhi. He sees his watch in Anokhi’s hands. And then her jiju accuses her of theft. All of these don’t really leave a good impression on his mind regarding Anokhi. We slowly see that change once he gets to know her. The story and the characters are both strong. I wish they don’t diverge too much and still keep the focus on education, patriarchal mindset.

That's exactly my problem... This show had such a good and strong female characters... Like even Rama later began to stand up for Anokhi... There was a scene in these episodes where she was talking to Anokhi and Ramesh comes from back... She was scared initially but ultimately picked up phone to give her the glance...

But now every single female character has turned weak to male characters... Mostly Shaurya!

Astha and Shaan's conversation in library about Shaurya was sort of blame game, poorly executed clearly indicating none of them cared or took the responsibility for damaging him.

But atleast Astha was strong enough to tell off Shaurya that he is wrong during Anokhi's admission... Post the attack she was weak running behind him crying out loud... I guess that was near death experience plus the feeling she got he was here to meet her... But the very next moment after sorry she was like... Alright don't care about Shaurya...

Anokhi dearly loved her mother and father... She was craving for their love and talking to them but not even once have I seen them talking post ragging incident... Like whole riots, rustication and top of it she was almost set to go back to Kapurthala... I would have loved seeing some regular interactions with family. Glad Babli was back today.

Shaurya is by far the best character and consistent character in the show and Shaan is most 'developed' one in my opinion... Anokhi has lost maximum charm in the bargain of romance.

Yes... He did blame her but even back then it affected Anokhi terribly that she was ready to give up... So, character assissnation running away shouldn't be too surprising...

His jealousy did stem from her closeness to Astha and Shaan and in one of the scenes he was determined to ensure that he would cut her 'wings' and not let her dreams be fulfilled... Again that was hatred but I am assuming given his idealology this aim of his will remain same but in future it will be out of love and possessiveness.

She was utterly broken , after everything that she went thru to secure the admission. Of course one’s spirit can only stretch so far. But she didn’t give up after the ragging episode and other incidents, flower assault, kidnapping. The breaking point for her , to leave the college, were his words. She was and is affected by him. And now the same will begin to happen to Shaurya too.

I actually think Aastha should call out Shaan for not taking care of Shaurya in her absence but the library scene did not serve the purpose and instead left a bad taste in mouth. Now Aasta is responding positively to Shaan's overtures without asking him anything about how Shaurya turned out like that or why he feels so lonely despite a houseful of people. She understands that he is in pain but does not ask Shaan anything about it. A good conversation between them about Shaurya is highly required and that should not just be about his love life but about how the 25 years were for Shaurya and for them too.

CVs seem to have forgotten about Anokhi's parents. Perhaps they can concentrate on only one aspect at a time.

The quality of the show isn’t the same anymore. It’s still watchable and I enjoy it but in effort to move along the love story to satiate viewers, it seems like we’ve lost some of the charm of the original characters. Writing and screenplay is all over the place. Lots of tracks are left hanging lately if it doesn’t pertain to the main leads. It still is a good show and probably better than whatever else is offered on tv and the channel. But the show had like a 1.0 TRP back then when the tracks and characters were well etched out and a 1.2 now so was moving away from the original premise worth the battle?

Even though the admission had some OTT moments, it was done very well.

They missed a golden opportunity to show some Rama and Anokhi scenes after the library scenes and Anokhi deciding to leave SIAC back to Kapurtala. Anokhi and Rama had such a good mother and daughter relationship, a lot candidness, which was refreshing. I’ve always enjoyed their scene and it helps to focus on other characters sometimes to give the leads a break. KV himself said in an interview sometime back that the show was special because it wasn’t just about the leads and there were other characters developed. However that doesn’t seem to exist anymore and in an effort to make Shaurya the ultimate character, all other characters have taken a backseat which is really sad. Writers should start focusing on what made this show show charming early on and probably until episode 53 or so.

I liked Anokhi in the last episode and seems like Jugni Anokhi is making a comeback but at the same time, organizing a college fest?? Why not show a debate competition instead? That’s her usp. College fest seems like a lot of work to organize so it’s important but Anokhi has her own interests and would be nice to see those explored as well. College fest is probably going to end up being a ShakHi dance performance thing and that’s going to be the entire premise behind the track
