Why Anokhi and not Shagun?

Dear Forumwasis, with the precap gearing up for Shagun re-entering the show, I wanted to Dwell more on Shaurya and his preference for Anokhi which wasn't the case with Shagun.

In the precap, Tej will take a wrong turn and while Devi will be off Shakhi for some time, Shagun will unfortunately return. So Tej misunderstanding the description was also understandable because Shagun and Anokhi have similar descriptions. But then again, there are differences.

Personally, I feel Anokhi has a fighting spirit that Shagun never had. Shagun had a supportive family background and Anokhi always had to fight for anything she wanted.

Second is Anokhi's connection to Aastha and her devotion to her that makes her both a competitor to Shaurya for his mother's affections and also an object of envy.

Thirdly, Anokhi is blunt with him. Shagun I felt used to toe the line and postponed confrontation till the last moment as she didn't want to upset him. Anokhi is clear about it. Chaar baate galat ki toh aath suna degi. Maybe the fact that she doesn't step on eggshells for him allows him freedom to be his own imperfect self.

So these were my observations. Please feel free to put your views too 😊😊😊😊

I absolutely stan the OG Shagun .She was such an elegant and classy character .In the first few episodes , We can definitely see why Shaurya would settle for her.She is beautiful, educated and the way she carries herself ..uff..I had a girl crush on her.I loved the way she tried to fight for her love but backed off when she realized Shaurya was not going to change his decision and left for London with her head held high .A Classic embodiment of Women Empowerment.

Now CV's are hell bent on ruining her character.I don't understand why a girl like her would return for a guy who broke her heart ,insulted her parents and didn't even bother to feel remorseful On top of that is in love with other woman.

In real life scenario,this would absolutely make no sense,but this is ITV,famous for their vengeful ex-gf trope.I seriously hoped better and Shagun deserves even better.

I agree with you on that. Had a girl crush myself. She was elegant but then again somewhere on te back of my mind I knew she was gonna be a villain soon 😓

Keeping that apart I am trying to analyse why Shaurya would fall for Anokhi instead of Shagun. Honestly speaking, Shagun would have been lesser trouble 😂 (both for Shaurya as well as Anokhi)

But then again the heart knows no fixed choices and I guess Shakhi had gone through such lives that they were meant to be❤️

Completely echo your thoughts. She got under his skin and riled him up (from her entry to the interview to the media confrontation to Aastha ma’am missing and beyond)

thanks to Anokhi, he turned a calm, cool and collected suave professor who had a handle on ha emotions into a total hot mess. We saw the good and the ugly from him. She manages to bring out the real Shaurya under the facade. He’s also attracted to her since he’s protected and saved her a few times so we can’t overlook that aspect. Shagun did not have the same struggles and dilemmas like the previous post stated

I believe Shaurya and Anokhi are meant to be star crossed lovers.There have been symbolism from the very beginning.Their very first meeting and She left a mark on him .And their bgm song "Jo tera howega jaroor awega " give us such feels.

Shaurya's relationship with Shagun for me was very platonic. Shaurya has this list of ideal wife in his wife and shagun fits well in that description.He was never challenged by her the way he is challenged by anokhi.When he broke his engagement with her , I didn't even notice an iota of guilt ,sadness or hurt in him expect disappointment whereas everyone can see how unhinged Shaurya becomes when it comes to Anokhi.The thing with Anokhi is that she doesn't give up on him ,if he is wrong ,she will go leaps and bounds to force him to acknowledge his feelings, the very thing Shaurya runs away from.In case of shagun, she must have moulded herself as Shaurya likes but Anokhi has always presented her raw and real spirit in front of him,which I have always found beautiful and surely he does too.

Shagun though educated n sophisticated cannot fight Shaurya. He literally bulldozed her wishes n dreams. bt Anokhi's almost a bull ready to charge. N he'z the one dancing around. So definitely there's a change in equation.

Like someone mentioned, yes with Anokhi he doesn't hv to be the suave respectable professor. He literally can whistle, sing, bang his head n shout out his frustrations without any facade. 😃

Shaguan ws too bland for him, while Anokhi's garam masala. 😆

This could be most disliked comment... 😆 because I am going to kind of bring out weaknesses of Anokhi and Shagun...

Someone had recently mentioned one major mistake by Shagun was to not tell Shaurya or family about application till it was accepted.. And I completely agree! She should have atleast informed.. Even in a lighter tone about how she has just for fun put in application as a headsup.

She did try her best to save her engagement... Since Anokhi wasn't too emotionally involved with Shaurya she was stern and upfront.. Shagun wasn't weak, she just used crying, begging as her way to let her pursue her dreams.... She would be weak in love if she would have chosen to give up her career for Shaurya (and again there is absolutely nothing wrong with it - it is people's choice but choice should be their own). In future, I am assuming since Shaurya could possibly more emotionally involved with Anokhi, he would be forced to change his perception about Anokhi and with little more attached to Shaurya, she would try her best to adjust.

Shagun as far as I have understood and couple of her episodes that I have seen... Was a strong and independent woman... So far, in Shaurya's view (or as per CVs presentation) Anokhi isn't as independent and constantly needs his interference in so many ways. Ehsan and favors are the words they have been using... Her ways of going around independently are usually backfired with goons following her, getting stuck in riot and what not... So, somewhere they would be highlighting how these two need each other constantly to ensure smoother life.

Anokhi has shown her intelligence and her strengths, would she really be utilize her potential being with Shaurya? Shagun can crack through Cambridge (🤣CVs could have tonned down her achievements for God's sake....) which is a big big deal...given Anokhi's potential, would she be able to do that? That's where the difference could be.

Maybe Shaurya wants Tonned down on intellectual and emotional drama version of Shagun and that's where Anokhi fits the bill...

But CVs are going to make Shagun stupid by bringing her back obsessing over a guy who literally told her rudest things you would ever want to hear from fiance (Well no... Anokhi has gotten trophy there.. Shaurya was worse with her.. But..)

I am very disappointed at the return of Shagun. Looks like Leena G. (Writer of Mohor) is not going to loosen her reins on this show. Mohor became Bengal topper after Sreshtha (Shagun) returned as an obsessed lover who plotted and tricked to create a series of misunderstandings between the two. Such an admirable character is going to be butchered for the sake of Trps.

About why Anokhi and not Shagun. With Anokhi, it is heart first and mind later. With Shagun, it was mind first and heart never. The original Shagun was much better off without Shaurya. She could get many a good man. And even if she did not, she had her career. The Shagun who will be back will be Devi's pawn. Still I would hope she gives up when she sees how much Shaurya and Anokhi love each other. Almost all the characters here are layered, hope they maintain that with Shagun.

@bold - In some regards, both Shagun and Anokhi are better off without Shaurya

I think you mentioned this in another post, but it would be nice to see Anokhis education beyond SIAC. Like she can pursue higher education in a different university. It’s not like it’s a must that she must only study at SIAc.

It’s my hope that Shagun doesn’t come back negative. But apparently the actress had acted in some naagin show so they must be bringing her back to add some naagin-ness to SIAC 🤢

Why an educated smart kind woman would come back to just be a naagin is beyond me. Hope this is all wrong and it’s not a negative character
