I don't think the writers are trying to whitewash Aastha here. If anything, they have botched up Aastha and Shaan's characters quite a bit compared to Mohor. They were never perfect or ideal characters but they were more real than the black and white characters we are used to seeing on tv. In Mohor, Aditi ( Aastha ) understood Shankho. She never accused him of being arrogant or expected him to be respectful towards her just because she was his mother. In fact she defended him in front of Mohor as well as Adi ( Shaan). Also, as I have said in another post, Adi was also not shown as an irresponsible and absentee father. He was a bit of a misogynist in the beginning but not a wimp. I don't know why they have turned him into a Devdaas here. I had expected DJs to do a better job than Leena G ( for the uninitiated she is the original creator of anupama, imlie, ghkkpm and saakk). I admit Shaurya and Anokhi are much better than Shankho and Mohor but I want to see better characterization for supporting cast too.

I too don't want Shaurya to forgive his parents overnight because his mother is injured. Neither do I say that he should apologize to them for his behaviour. In fact I am enjoying his outbursts. But I am just a viewer. Since everyone understands why Shaurya behaves the way he does, I am trying to figure out why Aastha and Shaan acted the way they did. As a viewer I don't want to make sweeping judgements regarding Aastha or Shaan. At the end of the day it is for the writers to decide how they want to take the story forward. It is at an interesting juncture right now.

Completely agree here. They could cook up various reasons but they need to be believable.

Waiting how they'll show why Shaan and Aastha did what they did.

First of all shaan wether he divorces astha or not should be his own decision and not shaurya.. he doesnt wanna call her his mom it's ok.. but he cant expect his dad to leave her just because of his own resentment..

So finally astha is shot and all she could remember in those moments is shaan and shaurya.. I wonder why shaan doesnt tell whatever had happened in the past to shaurya.. or will it be badi maa just like today be the one to bring the eventual truth to shaurya..

Anokhi is the mirror image of astha to shaurya.. and step by step she is showing him realities that he has been blind to.. and fate has been bringing him closer to truth everytime..

Anokhi coming to know that shaurya is son of astha will bring more twist in tale I feel..

The story is making turns now. Nikki knowing shaurya is aastha’s son will also change their dynamics. She will def not take any insults to her teacher lying down, however, I don’t think she should meddle bc she doesn’t know the history and the personal dynamics they share. But it will be fun to see how she shows him the mirror each time. It’s been time and time again he’s proven wrong, whether in interview or during the ragging scene or media. I want to see how bad shaurya can be as he claims he can be. this show is getting exciting day by day.

Still...even in extreme hate too...there is a limit one should not cross...yes he is emotionally damaged....and he don't have to accept astha..he can refuse no doubt...but he should not cross certain limits

He has not crossed any limits. What happened today is direct result of shaan's actions. Shaan changed himself for aastha but not for shaurya. All his life he had to deal with an alcoholic father who didn't care to change himself for his son's sake but the moment the estranged wife walks in the picture everything is about her. It just shows where shaurya stands in his life and now Shaan wants shaurya to respect, accept and give importance to aastha as a mother. I get that the full story is not out yet but so far there has been nothing that can help me empathize with Shaan and aastha. People expecting shaurya to grow up and all that don't understand that the emotional damage done to someone as a child takes years to heal and that too with help or it never heals. People like this should not be parents if they can't prioritize their kids over everything. I strongly believe that regardless of circumstances, a child should always be prioritized or just don't have one.

I loved the face off and it helped push Shaan take a stand for Aastha and his family. The rest of them are losers, just ignore..

Felt super bad for Aastha, for helping someone academically progress and be independent this is the stake?? Probably reality these days.

Shaurya, please watch your words. Someday its going to bite you. I really wished a slap although am not a fan of physical violence.

Felt bad for the Bhalla sisters in yesterday's episode.

This is the most irritating part. How can Shaan expect Shaurya to forget and forgive everything when both him and Aastha failed as parents. Ok let's believe that Aastha had no choice. But what was Shaan's excuse. Why couldn't he act like a responsible father? He and Aastha let their son down and then he expect Shaurya to understand them. That is a very selfish attitude.

Yes I agree here. Personally, it felt a bit weird how Shaurya was asking his father to divorce his mother. It's his life. If he still loves her that's not Shaurya's business.

I think Shaan isn't telling him but he think he'll not believe him anyway. Shaurya isn't ready to hear anything at all

I totally agree and people who think it is shaan's business and shaurya should have no say in who he loves or pursues a relationship with, well let me ask one thing. if it is shaan's business alone then why the hell is he heck bent on forcing shaurya to accept and respect her as his mother? if he wants to be with aastha so be it but he is also asking shaurya to accept her and that is what makes it his business as he is the one who is going to be stuck in an unwanted relationship.

I agree.

If Shaan love Aastha then it's his choice and it's fine.

But how could he expect Shaurya to accept Aastha. It's shaurya's own free will and you can't force an adult to respect his birth mother. Ofcourse, Shaurya behave like a teenager but his reasons are valid.

But ofcourse Shaurya should atleast listen to his parents POV and then take a decision. But asking for divorce was ridiculous.
