Chapter 7

Hello friends

Here is the next chapter....

Anokhi sighed and made another cross on the calander. Five more months in Sabharwal mansion and then she would go to her own way. She has a lot of plans for her future, but first she has to make sure her mummy would be safe from any harm. But what are those plans she has? Obviously she won't be the same Anokhi anymore , she would be different in other people's eyes. A divorcee.

People would mock her for her failed marriage , pity her. But.....

" Am I wrong? " She asked herself aloud.

She shook her head and decided to rest her thoughts for the meantime. After all she was Sabharwal family's daughter in law . The great Sabharwal family.

She closed her eyes and blinked back her tears remembering what occurred a week ago.

Flashback

Anokhi lightly knocked on the door of her elder mother in law and took a deep breath.

" Anokhi, please come inside beta?" She smiled lightly.

" Thank you badi ma. I brought your breakfast, you didn't had earlier. "

" Thank you so much. Really I chose the best for my son. Kitna dhyan rakhti ho tum sabhi ka. Come sit with me. "

" No badi ma it's nothing like that. You are just praising me too much. Badi ma I wanted to talk with you about my studies....."

" Yes beta I know you are worried that Shaurya won't accept you because you are undergraduate and dropped your studies because of marriage. But don't worry he don't have any problem with that. Infact, I am glad that you chose to be a Sabharwal rather than study. " Devi said faking sympathy.

" I agreed? What?"

" Yes beta. Your father said that you don't have any problem with being a homemaker......."

Flashback ends.

Anokhi wiped her eyes and took the breakfast tray and headed towards her father in law's room.

" Good morning papaji. " She said smiling brightly and put the tray on the table, heading towards the window to open the curtains.

Shaan yawned lightly and sat up" good morning. "

Anokhi chuckled at his antics and handed him his tea.

" Papa ji please don't drink alcohol all the time, it's not a good habit. Aap apna dhyan rakha kijiye. Mujhe ye bura lagta hai...."

" Dad it's about time please wake up. " Shaurya said entering the room and stared at the duo with wide eyes.

" Don't worry, son. Now my daughter is here , tumhe ab jyada pareshan hone ki jaroorat nahi hogi. During this 15 days trip of yours she was the one who became my alarm clock. " Shaan said smiling brightly.

Anokhi looked down and didn't dare to look Shaurya, she always tries to avoid his presence as much she could.

" Ofcourse dad. Your..... daughter....." Shaurya whispered and turned to walk out.

" Shaurya wait a minute. Now that you are back, why don't you take her out. Bechari ghar mein bor ho jati hai. You are newly married , you should spend some time together. " Shaan suggested.

" I have important work, dad. " Shaurya said and sprinted out of the giving a last glance to the other two occupants of the room, who seemed far too much friendly than he could ever hope to be with anyone.

" Papa ji aap breakfast kijiye. And in the meantime I will clear this mess. " Anokhi said and started cleaning the room.

She was packing some boxes when she came across some photographs of a little baby boy.

" He was a dude even at the age of 1. " Shaan informed her with a soft smile.

Anokhi looked at him with a puzzled look.

" Your husband. These are his photographs. "

" Papa ji if you don't mind then may I ask you something?"

" Go ahead"

" Where is Mr Sabharwal's mother? Your wife. "

Shaan closed his eyes and took a deep breath " she is well, she is happy wherever she is. There were some circumstances and......"

" It's ok papa ji. I can understand. You have your breakfast.... I have some work. " Anokhi said in a apologetic tone and walked out. Stupid nikki, you shouldn't have asked this question. You spoilt his mood. She thought.

Shaan sat down and sighed at his cowardice. Now, he couldn't even tell his daughter in law about the amazing woman , she should have known. Aastha would have adored her.

But ofcourse he can't tell her anything.

Flashback

Shaan looked up from the photos he was seeing and saw his son entering the room.

" So how was my son's engagement?" He asked.

" Oh so you remember dad. Then may I know why you were not present there?" Shaurya snapped.

" I thought you were the one who said, you don't want to be embarrassed because of my Habits. I didn't want to spoil your special day. " Shaan said wiping the tears forming in his eyes.

" But that doesn't mean you won't come. All were asking about you, but you are here. Again drowing in your....."

" I didn't mean to hurt you Shaurya. " He said.

" Dad I am requesting you, please I don't want anything related to that woman in front of Anokhi. No photographs , videos. Nothing related to her. I don't want her presence anywhere near Anokhi. " Shaurya said calmly and walked out without any reply.

Flashback ends

Shaurya took a vase and threw it on the floor. He wanted to share his recent success with his father, but ofcourse his father don't have any time for him.

First those so called memories of that Aastha Sabharwal and now that Anokhi. His father seems to be very fond of that girl.

Daughter. He called her daughter.

He never had any time for him.....

Shaurya punched on the wall that his hand started bleeding.

On hearing the some loud sounds Anokhi entered her husband's study and was shocked to see his husband staring at the floor with rage.

" Mr Sabharwal are you alright? Aapke haath se khoon nikal raha hai. " She said worriedly and started searching for first aid kit.

" No need for your help. Just go away. " Shaurya shouted.

Anokhi ignored him and continued her search and found that at last.

Shaurya walked towards her and grabbed her shoulders " I said leave, I don't need your help. I don't want your unwanted presence. "

" Alright I ....will but let..... " She said softly and took his hand in hers and started bandaging it.

After completing the chore Anokhi didn't look at Shaurya and instead looked around the room in awe. There were so many books all around.

" Wow. " She whispered in awe. It looked like her dream came true.

Shaurya looked at her childlike innocence and smiled slightly. She was still a kid, too much innocent for his broken self.

" Do you like to read?" He asked.

Anokhi looked ahead and nodded hesitantly. She was in dilemma of what to do or not. Ideally she should walk out as she was an unwanted presence , but these books were a great temptation.

" Then you may come whenever you want and could take as much books you want. " Shaurya said.

" No..... it's ok. I don't...."

" No I insist. This is the only thing I could do for you and this is incomparable in front of what you do for my family. " He said and gestured her to explore further.

Anokhi walked towards the shelfs and started caressing the books softly. How much she love their fragrance. These are her best friends. Books gave her hope even in the darkest of times. When her father used to beat her, these were the ones that gave her hope.

Shaurya continued looking at her with awe and wonder. This girl was different. She is not like others. Just like her name she is unique.

Shaurya looked at her one last time and walked out. 5 more months and then she will be free of this burden.

But what about him? Ofcourse he won't be same after her departure.

What would he do? Obviously his family won't be too happy with his decision.
