I completely sympathize with this girl Alka.Being the eldest is mostly frustrating. You are constantly reminded of your responsibilities, even though you are a kid you have to act like a grown up matured person all the time. You always have to set an exemplary example before your younger siblings. Things are worst if you are a girl child.You become the caretaker of family's honor and pride. Whereas the younger ones are more liberated without much Botheration. If they do something wrong , parents start questioning you first.
Alka had to take up the responsibility of her three sisters after her mother's death. She was thrusted into a domesticated life in her childhood. Cooking,cleaning ,looking after kid sisters without much fuss keeping all her contrived feelings to herself.She got the break from such mundane chores only in her colorful imaginations and when Rajeev came she could not hold herself anymore. I hated Devyani when she was being nasty with Alka. She shows herself to be a bold, free spirited girl but absolutely got cold feet when she got those anonymous phone calls.
