Well..this is true, in some Puranas.. shani kicks sangya's womb thinking she is his mother because of her ill-treatment, as an insult to the womb who gave him birth not knowing she is not his real mother.

She casts curse on him that his leg will be infected and rot away. Surya Dev is surprised that how could she curse Shani. Shani's actions are understandable because he is just a child, but a mother can't curse her child like that. He then learns the truth about chhaya and Shani's real mother.

He heals Shani's leg but leaves a mark.. this is one of the reasons it is said..shani walks slowly.

In sone stories chhaya curses Yam..

some stories state Yam attacked him and hence Shank walks with a limp. It's although controversial.

After watching Sandya's venomous true avatar tonight, I now more than ever wish for Chaya to come back. Sandhy is no fit to be a mother. Leave mother, she failed even to be a descent daughter! And tonight she proved it.

She is being worse than Indra .

That's so cruel. Has hwr tap gone to her head.

She wasnt so horrible..she used to be timid.

Anyways, I feel she was cruel to her kids as well. She left them for tap..and when she returns, she wanted to take away the very mother they loved. It's cruel and unfair to Yam and Yami as well.

Or is it just because Shani is the slowest planet.. he is called limp?

It makes no sense to me that a Devta is limp..to be honest.

Shani represents people who are weak, of a lower class and this should include the handicapped.. given his emotional and sensitive nature. Could be another reason why he became associated with being limp?
