I really thought in that scene Harak Singh wouldnt buy anything for Saumya! As he always keep calling Saumya kinner kinner etc and never fails to downgrade her. Pleasant suprise!

Harak Singh has not changed...but its the family prestige
in front of outsiders that is at stake...thats why he bought
Saumya the new outfit...and also told Preeto to ensure
that Saumya has her mangalsutra and sindoor on...to
keep up the pretense with outsiders who only know
of Saumya as the bahu of Harak Singh...
