5 reasons why Shakti ' Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki is in the Top 5

The Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) has released the reports for this week and Shakti holds steady in the 5th position this week, too. Kumkum Bhagya grabbed the first position with the highest TRP. Wondering what makes Shakti so consistent? Here's why we think Shakti has been consistently in the Top 5 for 3 weeks now.

The 21-day challenge

Saya challenges Nimmi (Reena Kapoor) that Soumya (Rubina Dilaik) will not remain in the house for more than 21 days and if she does, Saya will let go of her. Nimmi is keen on somehow letting Soumya stay in the house for 21 days and plans to take her somewhere far once the 21 days are over. Meanwhile, Harman (Vivian Dsena) finds out about Soumya being a transgender and is bewildered on knowing about this. Though he is confused about his love for Soumya, he does not utter a word about it to anyone. The daily soap has been doing exceptionally well ever since Harman found out that his wife is a transgender and Harman's mother, Preeto, sniffs a problem between the two.

To be or not to be

Harman is in a constant dilemma about Soumya and the fact that she is a transgender. Whether he will stay with Soumya trying to figure out how they can live together or will he leave her is a question that is making the audience watch this soap every day. It is one big and crucial decision. Can love really conquer everything?

Preeto's tricks

Preeto (Kamya Punjabi) is constantly coming up with silly tricks to find out if Soumya really is a transgender. She is a typical saas who wants to interfere in her son's life and give the daughter-in-law a tough time to find out the truth. All her effort and plots to unravel the truth is also one of the reasons people are hooked to this show.

Saya returns

Preeto finds out about Soumya and is furious with her and her family for hiding the truth and ruining her son's life. Saya makes a comeback into Soumya's life as her 21 days are not up yet. Preeto and Mahinder (Soumya's father) decide to hand her over to Saya when Harman stops them out of respect for Soumya.

A possible love triangle?

Preeto wants Harman to get married to Soumya's sister, Surabhi. She clearly hates Soumya and knows that Harman could possibly never have a future with her. Could this mean there will be a love triangle in the near future?

The show speaks about a very niche sector of the society and clearly shows that people are still reluctant to accept a transgender in the society. Most people fail to realise that a transgender person is capable of being in a relationship, both physically and emotionally. Hopefully, the show will not lose focus and concentrate on their concept which encourages people, irrespective of their sex, to believe in relationships and accept it.
