With its new offeringShakti... Astitva KeEhsaas Kii, COLORS brings to its viewers a family drama, narrating the story of two kids as they experience indifference within the same family. The show replaced the longest running fiction drama on television Balika Vadhu to take over the prime time slot of 8 PM.Set against the rustic backdrop of rural Punjab, 'Shakti- Astitva Ehsaas Kii' narrates the story of a family which is divided as it subjects its children to conscious prejudice. In order to add to the Punjabi flavour ofthe show, the show makers roped in theaward-winning playback singer Richa Sharma for singing the title track of the show, and veteran composer AnandRaaj Anand for the composition. For the song, they wanted a singer thathas an unusual, heavy voice and who could easily capture the Punjab ethnicity. So they roped inRicha Sharma, who is known for lending her voice to Punjabi and Rajasthani folk songs. They locked in Anand Raaj Anand because the production house wanted a composer to capture the earthy feel of Punjab for the composition of the song.Musician Rabbi Shergill will be composing the romantic tracks in Shakti. As the show progresses, making a comeback in the fiction genre would be Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik along with Roshini Sahota.
