Gettimelam is a pretty boring story of a joint family with two perfectly obedient boring daughters and two good-for-nothing sons. The daughters won't even breathe without the parents' permission. Viraat who plays the second daughter's husband - a psycho,orphan,millionaire who keeps his wife literally a prisoner in his Castle -is the only entertaining character. He's an orphan who'd got tired of everyone leaving him and is afraid that his wife will do the same and keeps her locked up and away from people.I just watch his scenes. It's super entertaining how he tries to manipulate her at the very time being exasperated by people who threaten to out his secret.

In most shows the males are shown as only supporting characters or don't have any say in things.The mastermind is always a woman..They oppose the wrong doing but cannot help.As you mentioned Virat's character is something out of the box in Gettimelam.

True. Males rarely have a character arc or growth of their own in tv serials. Viraat always chooses negative characters. Even when he plays positive characters, they tend to have a flaw or two. Like in the Tamil show Perazhagi where he's a superstar supporting the heroine. But he's also a boaster and knows how to manipulate the press, how to tackle politicians and present everything in a positive way.

In Gettimelam his Mahesh is straight out negative. They'll probably kill him so that the wife can get together with her male bestie who'd been in love with her all along. Or put Mahesh in a mentally retarded state to redeem him like they did in the Kannada show Niharika.

Unlike the typical villains, Mahesh is always afraid and trying to make up plans and cook up sob stories at the last minute. He's always panicking behind the scenes though he presents a cool persona to the world. There's this old friend from orphanage to chase away, hit wife's grandmother and put her on a coma, prevent wife from finding out the hidden cameras...Mahesh's days are full. On top of that he has to do the house work too since he won't admit servants in the house. There has never been a more exhausted villain.

Raghavendranige Jhansi mele feelings develop aagitu.Jhansi was acting but his feelings were real.Now they made Anitha negative so that Jhansi and Raghu become couple and justifying her acts.

Drishti bottu-Enu aaythu.How come family accepted her even after her truth came out before Dutta.Did Dutta forgive her.?I missed that part .pls reply anveshika

Father - daughter intentions not right.They are scheming against Ram.Maybe Prema will prove to be a good wife and DIL in future.

Mahadeva has to bear Kavya's tantrums for a while.
