A quiet place

“Breathing in, I calm my body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is the only moment." Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace

"Is it because of age or the experience that comes with age?" is a question I have asked myself many times over the past few years. I have asked this question again and again in noisy and disturbing situations when I have reached and taken the cloak of silence and let it cover me with its quiet and peace, shutting away the noises from the others around me.

Silence. Yes, silence is such an important ambience, virtue, and need, not just in our own personal and daily lives but also at work.

Being an actor, I realized very early in my career that for an actor, quiet and peace are vital when they find themselves in front of the camera and also when preparing to come before the camera for their scenes.

Sadly, many actors that I work with today fail to see the point I am making and are constantly chittering like rats and chattering like monkeys, right until the director screams "ACTION" or "silence."

This same silence is sadly lacking in temples and other places of worship, and yes, also in theaters. Mobile phones ringing and people answering them at their loudest a while, we curse them.

One of the reasons that I seek the solace of the beach and the sunrise almost every other day is because of the need for silence and also because only in that morning glory of silence am I able to hear my own voice talking with my own version of God's voice.

I know, but more about that talking stuff later.

But a quiet beach, soft sands, and morning sun are not possible all the time and are not in your reach when you want them.

Remember that time when we sat near the window of a train and watched and heard other trains racing towards us, screaming and then rushing past us, and soon faded away? Both sight and sound diminish as the train vanishes out of sight.

Be that. Use that and let useless people and their useless chittering and chattering recede from your sight and hearing. Not only when at work but when in prayer and conversing with God with eyes wide open.

It works. Believe me, it works. Illusion. Delusion.

Maybe. Maybe not, but if it works, then that is good.

Hey, Give it a chance and let it work. For we give life a chance and think of ourselves as immortals, and when we know well, very well that the real immortal called death is around the corner, the corner could be a U-turn or a blind curve, and it has you in its sight.

Yet, we humans persist in the illusion of life, immortality, and eternity.

So, cover yourself and drown yourself in the peace of silence when at work, when in solitude, and also when among friends and family who are acting like foes and fools.

Good morning. I wish you a beautiful day.

Prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue; God's voice is its most essential part. Listening to God's voice is the secret to the assurance that He will listen to mine.

Avan, Aval Adhu 518

Madhu's eyes were full of joy as she asked Ravi, ' You saw her too?' ' and he nodded with tears of joy, ' Yes. I saw her ' and stopped and stared at her and realising what Madhu's words meant asked her, ' That means she came to you? You saw her too?'

Madhu smiled and said, ' She came to me, hugged me and blessed me ' and touched the Kali pendant, ' I knew that we would not be meeting again. That is why I left this as my parting gift.'

Ravi looked at her with eyes full of pride and respect and cupping her face whispered, ' I am lost for words, Madhu. I have no words to express my wonder at this incredible feat of yours. Maybe this supreme sacrifice is what prompted Meenakshi to come back to life and reach out to you and then reach out to me.'

' My dear husband, master sir, a marriage is a unification of souls while these symbolic symbols such as wedding rings, bangles and Mangalsutras are mere rituals.'

Taking his hand and placing it on her chest, ' You are in my heart and have been in my heart from that moment when our eyes met way back in school. That bonding, that love is more sacred and important to me than symbols and rituals.'

Turning around she called someone by his name, ' Bolenathji ' and the next moment, a man in his late 50s or early 60s materialised along with a few women leaving Madhu to wonder aloud, ' I am surprised, Boleji. Usually it takes two or three attempts to get your attention and yet here you are appearing like a genie out of Aladdin's lamp'.

Bolenath hung his head in embarrassment and replied in Bengali forcing Madhu to interrupt him and request him to talk in either English or Hindi or in Tamil and winked wickedly at Ravi.

Bolenath grumbled, ' Tamil? No, thank you and proceeded to talk in flawless English, ' That's because today we have a guest in our home after so many years and we were all curious to see who it was and that is why we appeared like the genie that you so kindly mentioned.'

Then he added, ' Although, we appeared faster than a genie.'

Madhu turning to Ravi, ' Bolenathji has been working for our family from before my time. So, he has some leeway with me and in this house and is allowed certain liberties with his sharp tongue.'

Taking Ravi's hand, she looked at Boleji and introduced him. ' Boleji, this is my husband, Mr. Ravi Kumar ' and seeing their expressions, ' I know. Everything happened quickly but happened for the best. We got married yesterday morning.'

The moment she mentioned his name, Ravi saw clearly the effect it had on Bolenathji for the man seemed to be suddenly overwhelmed by some strange malady.

On trembling legs, he approached Ravi and folding his hands, ' Namaste, bade saab. I have heard so much about you and now that I see you in flesh and bone, I realise that you are all that Madhuji described and more.'

' Welcome home, bade saab. I hope your arrival brings peace and happiness to my child, to this home and to all of us here.'

Gently clasping the old man's hands in his, Ravi said, ' Please, call me Ravi. Just plain and simple Ravi. You are the same age as my parents and you are more or less Madhu's guardian. So, no formalities, Boleji. Treat me the same way as you treat Madhuji.'

Both men looked at each other and then Boleji enquired politely, ' What do you newlyweds want for dinner?'

Madhurima looked at Ravi who said, ' Your choice, ma'am. You know me. I will eat anything without a fuss.'

' You heard my man, Boleji. So, prepare what you think is best ' and taking Ravi's hand whispered, ' Come, Jaanu. It is time to meet my Dada and get his blessings.'

Boleji and the women stood staring at the newlywed couple as they went out into the garden. Then, one of the women whose name was Protibha and known for her timid nature, observed, ' They look like Ram and Sita, and is it only me, or are they really glowing with a strange aura.'

Bolenath smiled and said, ' Protibha, I see it too and I must say it is a beautiful sight.'

Then when all the women began to bicker about what to cook for breakfast and what their new master would like for breakfast, Bolenath turned and announced, ' We have to cook everything although I know it is going to turn cold and in the end will be a total waste.'

The women looked at him as if he had gone mad and went to the kitchen wondering to themselves what Bolenathji was rambling about.

Avan, Aval Adhu 519

She took his hand in hers and took all of him into her possession and safekeeping. He placed her hand in hers and let her lead him through the palatial house and out into the garden all the while thinking ' Am I dreaming or is this really happening to me and to us? ' and followed her out into the large garden that resembled some kind of exotic botanical museum.

There in the middle of the beautiful oasis stood a Gulmohar tree and underneath was an old wooden bench.

' That was made by my Dada and that is where we used to sit and watch the sun come up and then watch it drown into the western darkness for the night ' Madhurima said and looked at Ravi who smiled and said, ' Beautiful.'

A gentle breeze wafted through the trees and through him whispering, ' Let it all go. Shed your worries and sorrow and be one with the one for whom you waited all these years.'

She let go of him and stood watching as he slowly approached the tree and then felt her heart stop and speed up as he placed his forehead on the tree in reverence and looking up whispered something to it.

After a few moments, he walked to the bench and sat down and she joined him by sitting next to him.

That the garden, an oasis was in the middle of one of the most congested and noisy city was made apparent by the noises of distant vehicles riding on two and four wheels. Yet, Ravi felt a sense of peace, a beautiful and peaceful isolation inside the walls of the house and among the trees of the garden.

' What did you whisper to the tree, Jaanu?'

He looked into her eyes, ' I asked the tree and the spirit of your Dada to forgive me for causing you so much pain. I promised them that I would watch over you, protect you and love you as long as there is life in my body and maybe beyond that and then.'

She felt his hot tears on her hands before she heard his voice choke and ask her to forgive him and she kissed him and told him, ' You beautiful soul. My beautiful man. There is nothing to forgive you for. If anybody should be asking for forgiveness then that person, that entity is God itself for creating so much havoc and chaos in all our lives. Not you, Jaanu.'

Ravi looked at her shyly and asked, ' I am sorry to ruin this moment but I need to use the loo for I cannot hold my bladder any longer. I think the last time I peed was early in the morning in the Madurai Airport. Also, I need to bathe for even a pig would run away from me and my smells.'

Madhurima looked at him and before he could do say or act, leaned forward and buried her face in his chest and his armpits and sniffed him and growled in a strange voice, ' Mister, Pee all you want but no bathing for I want to drown myself in this scent of yours.'

Hearing her totally aroused voice and the promise of her words sent every drop of blood from his brain, heart and other organs and flooded his penis with it and swooning in his own rush of passion and desire, he manage to sputter, ' ma'am, please lead me to your quarters and promise that you will say and do what you just did.'

Just as Ravi wondered why Madhu was leading him away from the direction of the house from which they had entered the large garden, she stopped outside a large door and quickly tapped the key pad and when it flashed green, she opened the door and led him in holding his arm in hers.

Ravi's jaw dropped open as he stood stunned with the ambience of the room and at the large photo of his that stood staring at him. The room was nearly 1000sqft in size but was dominated by the mini garden that took up half that space.

' A Tsubo-niwa garden! ' Ravi exclaimed and pointing to the mini forest inside the room, ' Beautiful ' and immediately fell silent for Madhu who had shut the door now came towards him and began undressing herself.

Ravi stood speechless and stood watching as she unwrapped the saree that she wore and then slowly removed her blouse and unclasped her bra and unleashed her beautiful breasts.

Gasping with pleasure, he reached for them but she stilled him with one word, a command, ' Stay ' and then she stepped out of her panty and stood before him totally naked.

His heart felt like it was going to explode out of his mouth, ears and nostrils and it took all his strength to stay still like she had told him to and then it took more than that when she began to undress him.

She unbuttoned his shirt and when he had wriggled out of it, slowly and deliberately stroked his huge bulge and then unbuttoned his pant and unzipped him.

Ravi's hard, huge and throbbing C..ck leaped out of his underwear and he groaned and moaned in pleasure as she bent down and helped him step out of his cotton dockers and nearly came when her hair rustled his genitals.

They stood naked, man and woman and they stood as nature's children in just their skin and their desire.

She looked at him with eyes full of fire and whispered shyly, ' I have been dreaming of this from the time I met you. I know we were just teenagers back then but I thought of it and I felt no shame then and I feel no shame now ' and slowly went down on her knees and took his huge c.ck in her hands and began to stroke it and Ravi yelled out his pleasure like an animal.

His eyes felt heavy and drugged and he looked down at her as she slowly put her tongue on his engorged c.ck and began to suck on him. Just when he thought his pe.is could not grow any harder or longer, he watched fascinatedly as it did in her soft loving hands and wet mouth.

She sucked on his cock for a few minutes and then taking him to the large, luxurious bed, pushed him and mounted him.

Just when he thought she would sit with him inside her, she slowly moved forward and placed her wet, juicy dripping C.nt on his mouth and began to slowly move on it.

Ravi thought that he had died and gone to heaven for her sex, smell, passion and her steaming desire felt exactly like that.

Using her knees to support her weight, she rubbed her wet pus.sy on his open mouth and it took just a few moments for her to explode.

She came with a scream for the orgasm that she experienced was mindblowing, mindnumbing and she poured herself out into his mouth and he tasted her sweet juices and used his tongue to lick her roughly and this only made her come again and again and that was all he could take for he forgot himself and forgot how strong he was and pushed her to the ground and spreading her legs pushed himself in and began to f.ck her and love her.

It only pushed her over the edge for she threw her legs over his back and her arms around his neck and pulling him yelled, ' Harder, deeper ' and the night had just begun for the lovers, man and woman and for husband and wife.

Their physical desires coupled with their souls and with their eternal love blazed long into the night.

She pushed him to the edge and beyond and just when he thought they were done, she made love to him and at the same time F.cked him again and again and in all ways possible.

Then just when he had lost track of time and times, she slowly took his wet and tired c.ck and began to blow on him and looking at him with eyes full of lust, whispered, ' I want you in my mouth. I want to taste you and swallow you ' and went back to sucking on his hardening c.ck.

She teased him and stroked him and cajoled him and there was nothing he could do to stop himself and he came in huge spurts and she licked him and ate him and it went on and on.
