Her last outing in S a n d a lwo o d , Jarasandha, opposite Duniya Vijay, might not have raked in the moolah at the box office, but Pranitha is pinning high hopes on her second venture with the actor. Bheema Theeradali, hits screens today and will see the pair coming together once more on screen. The film, which is based on the life of Chandappa alias Chandya, who fought for the welfare of the people in Almella, a small village in North Karnataka, has Vijay essaying the role of Chandya and Pranitha playing his love interest.
Speaking about her experience in the film, Pranitha says, "My character is glamorous in the first half of the movie, but she transforms into a village belle towards the end of it. The role is very different from the characters I have played so far. We managed to find many clues about Vijay's character in books and newspapers, but we couldn't find any for mine. I had to rely on my director completely."
Bheema Theeradali was shot in the forests and remote locations of Karnataka. Since the film is an action-drama, Pranitha had to hone her action skills too. "I had scenes in which I had to jump on to a running horse wearing a sari. It was quite thrilling," she says.
The actor has now signed her next Kannada project opposite Golden Star Ganesh and is looking forward to experimenting with new roles. Pranitha has also nearly wrapped up the shoot of her Tamil film Saguni, in which she is paired opposite Karthi. Prasad of Sammarth Ventures, who has taken the distribution rights for Bheema Theeradali, is all set to take the risk of releasing the film in the middle of the IPL hungama. "If the match is good, people will sit in front of the TV and catch the action. Similarly, if the movie is good, people will go to theatres to watch it. Since IPL matches start only in the evening, I don't think it will majorly affect the moviegoing audience," says Prasad.
