PART 3 Simran was driving Rajbeer back to Jogi's place..
Simmi, I am sorry you had to hear all that and I am sorry u had to come to know about Preeto and me this way, trust me I was planning to let you know once I had Preeto's confirmation.
That's ok Rajbeer,i know u meant to tell me. I found the painting u were planning to gift me today. Rajbeer, I cannot believe this is happening..I cannot believe that my mother can do this. I am sure there must be some misunderstanding, My mother will not ruin Bhai's life trying to set up mine. I cannot even begin to think my mother would try to sabotage another girl's life.
But Simmi, I am sorry to say this is not the first time I am hearing something from Neelam Aunty against Ishu. She wasn't too keen on the wedding also.
Rajbeer told Simran about him and Preeto hearing on 2 different occasions about NeelamAunty trying to sabotage DhruvIshu's wedding..He told her even Dhruv
knew about it and had confronted NeelamAunty.
Simran found herself getting more annoyed, Please Rajbeer, stop it..what are you saying? Dhruv and Ishu are happily married now right,she did not do anything to stop the wedding right..
Rajbeer then told her about the phone call in the boutique and how Neelam Aunty denied it.
He told her about the compromising photos that he too found which Sonu had told about. But when he told her of what NeelamAunty had said when he confronted her Simran screamed - See, she herself told you what the matter was and why she was hiding it from all.. I want to believe you, I know you will not lie to me, especially not in this matter about us but I am sorry I am very much unable to. My mom has been very supportive of me but I cannot believe she will stoop
to this level.
Are you sure Preeto has not misunderstood something my mom said..I know Mom can talk little weirdly to the Dhillons sometimes coz of the middle-class thing .
but I am sure she would not have blackmailed Preeto to marry someone so we can be together. Please Rajbeer, think of what you are saying...this is surely some misunderstanding on Preeto's part.
Anyways we have reached now..I will talk to you later..I don't feel the mood to talk to Jogi and Jaasi right now.
Saying this, Simran dropped off Rajbeer and drove off furiously.
Her head reeling from the turn of events when Simran reached home..How was she to clear her mother from these horrible accusations?
She found her mother pacing in her room.
Neelam was angry. She was very very angry as she had seen a painting of Preeto in bridal wear and it was Rajbeer's work.
Fearing the worst when she saw Simran, Neelam flew at her with all of her motherly concern..how was her daughter going to react? I will make each of the
Dhillon family members pay for the hurt they are causing my baby!!
You seen this painting is it Simran? Where did u get Rajbeer's painting..what did he say? Oh no, are you ok? Tell your mamma darling, are you feeling bad?
Do you want me to talk to Rajbeer? I will do that..we can go for counseling if u want..don't worry we can solve this issue, its nothing my baby! Neelam was incessantly talking, fussing over her child not seeing anything around her. Her dinner tray also seemed untouched.
Seeing her mother this way shocked Simran, some protective mentality triggered in her mind and She found herself lying- No mom, why should I feel bad? Rajbeer was planning to gift this to Preeto for her wedding..there was a card on it also , i must have placed it in my bag or somewhere.
Relief swept all over Neelam's body..ohhh..Sorry dear, I thought something else completely when I saw this painting..that's why I panicked like that..
Mom why u being so negative, don't worry so much...Simran felt these lies were necessary but she could not understand herself why she was doing this. Whom was she unconsciously shielding? Her own mother from the truth or was she shielding someone else from her mother..
Simran made her Mom have some hot dinner and gave her some tablets for deep sleep. She felt the need for the same but she knew she had had enough of a smooth
life. Now was the time for action , after all that Simran had been through in the past few days, Simran remembered the promise she made to herself. She loved Rajbeer and it was time she took care of him in the way she used to be.
Neelam lay in her bed weeping silent tears of thanks that her daughter had not been injured. The last thought that came to her mind just before sweet sleep
took over was that Preeto was always going to be a danger to Simmi's happiness and Neelam needed to ensure this problem was solved forever.
Back at the Dhillons' place , Preeto Sunny and Papaji were talking animatedly as they came in..Preeto was very happy seeing Beeji and Baani had come back.She
rushed to her mother feeling light in facing her for the first time in a long long time!
Beeejiii when did u come? Why didn't u call me earlier! I have some very very happy news to tell u!
Beeji hugged her child back tightly unable to say what she wanted to.How much my daughter is withstanding by herself..Babaji give my child all the strength
in the world.
Sunny couldn't wait to spill the news..Ok ok since all of u are here, Meeta I order u to get us sweets now!
Sonu looked on with a new promise on her lips..today again she had a secret but this was easier to hold in as her Beeji was on her side.
Meeta came in with the sweets and was in time to hear all 3 - SunnyJi, Preeto and Papaji talking at the same time..
Sunny's publishing friend had agreed to publish Papaji's poems and if they were a sold well, they would place a contract for a family-based novel with
Papaji.
Everyone's mood lifted instantly, this was something each member had been waiting for and the moment was here finally..papaji was shedding tears of joy..He
was saying his novel would be based on his Sher Singh and that novel would definitely be a hit no doubt.
Beeji hugged Preeto more - Yes masterji she said there will lots for you write about in your book about this child of ours.
Meeta, Baani and Sonu were hugging Preeto not only their congratulations on helping Papaji but their gratitude for the sacrifices that Preeto was making and
for the happiness she was giving each time. Then everyone turned on Sunny,Pankaj lifted him with everyone's help and they all sang and paraded him about the
hall! Beeji and Papaji smiled watching their children - each precious one of them.
Rajbeer and Jogi were discussing the matter at length on the terrace..Rajbeer was feeling guilty that Simran was going through so much but Jogi was more
worried about his friend.
Rajbeer we first need to solve Beeji's problems..she came to you straight from Pathankote .We can concentrate on Simran slowly..no child can accept that her
parent is bad especially someone like Neelam Aunty.Whatever her faults are she is poses as a good mom to both her children. We will not be able to convince
both Dhruv and Simran that their mother is blackmailing Preeto, unless they have solid proof they will not believe anything we say. I still think you need to
get Sunny on our side..
Rajbeer agreed that Jogi was right, he would have to speak to Sunny and get his help somehow. But how?
The 7 am alarm was ringing shrilly , Rajbeer pulled out a lazy hand from under the warm blanket to stop the alarm hoping to catch some more sleep- he had
finally fallen asleep quite late last night- but it turned off unexpectedly by itself and a sweet voice- Get up lazy bones..its time for ur medicine and
time for a long long talk.
Rajbeer's eyes few open -Simmi what are u doing so early in the morning?
Jogi drawled sleepily- Atleast u got 45 minutes more sleep than me...this lady is here from that time waiting to wake u only when ur alarm rings !
Rajbeer felt conscious - Hello what are all of u doing in my room..let me get up first...
Jogi and Simmi bantered on not leaving Rajbeer's side..Rajbeer watched Simran as she giggled on with Jogi, how beautiful she was when she smiled.. Rajbeer
wished so much that he could see her smile forever. Why couldn't I have fallen in love with her.. she cares so much for me, she has been by my side for
everything right from my school days..if I am sane today its coz she dragged me from hell in school. I could have kept her happy.
Then Preeto's image came in his mind,in his grandmother's chunni and his breath stopped- a stab of pain in his heart recalling that moment..he knew love
could not be managed, it just happened..He smiled sadly thinking Preeto had said this repeatedly when they were helping out couples.
If Simran helped him exist, Preeto had given him life ! His heart would only beat for her.
Simran was saying - Rajbeer stop wasting my time..I have a lot to talk and I have a lot to ask from u. Please join me on the terrace, I cooked and brought
breakfast for us all.
Jassi was wolfing down breakfast when Rajbeer reached upstairs..he helped himself smiling at Jassi who was thanking the heavens for sending Simran with
food...Simran and Jogi seemed deep in discussion..Simran had hardly touched her breakfast.
Yes Simran, for Sunny to be able to help us I think only your idea will work..Rajbeer and I had come up with various scenarios what we can pesent to Sunny
but none were enough to be able to take Sunny into our confidence..that dude has literally sacrificed his time and life for Preeto's mission why would he
help us out?
Rajbeer was curious but Simran was adamant that they eat and only then she would talk.
After they had eaten and Jassi was stretched out in the warm morning sun,Jogi and Simran turned seriously at Rajbeer. I need another help from you Rajbeer. I need you to have an open mind. I am going to ask something of you which might be difficult for you.
Rajbeer i have been thinking.Preeto is my friend and she has proved to be an amazing support for me, when i think of the sacrifice she has made i feel bad.
Simran could not bring herself to talk about what had happened last night with her mother.
Instead she said-I dont know if she has misunderstood something my mom said or whether my mom really did something but whatever it is i cannot ignore the fact that she has made this sacrifice. I cannot in my dreams also hope to be like her. I owe her big time and Rajbeer i need proof. I need proof that my mother is involved in this, without proof i am very sorry i will not able to accept anything. I will not be able to face my Bhai also. I need to be able to face Beeji without guilt once more..
I know you dont have to do anything to help me but i am asking u..
No Simmi, dont say that..if there is anything i can do , u know i will. Your happiness is very important for me.
Simran and Jogi outlined the plan they had in mind.
Preeto had to confront NeelamAunty once again and ask her back for the photographs.
Sunny's help would be required to secretly record the conversation.
Based on what they found in the video they could plan out the next step..
Jassi drawled something about Abhishek Bachan's ad - what an idea sirJi plan of spilling everything on YouTube.
Simran looked appalled that they were ready to believe her mother was guilty...but she checked herself when Jogi and Rajbeer hastily apologised.
For Preeto and Sunny to be able to go back to NeelamAunty and ask for the photographs they must be able to provide my mother with something and that something should be our engagement. Please Rajbeer will you be able to do this for me? Will you be able to go through a fake engagement while our plan is put through?
Jogi also intervened ,Yes Rajbeer, this is the only way we can assure that Neelam Aunty does not do anything drastic when Sunny and Preeto approach her. Also you both dont have to really go through a ceremony as such , we can say we will wait for you to recover fully before doing anything. By then things should be clear.
Rajbeer was shocked,he took Simran aside.. No SImmi i cannot do this to you. I cannot do this to our friendship. How will i face myself giving such torture to u ...we have to find some other way to handle this.. i will not allow you to be hurt any further else you have to accept my proposal for real.
Simran then spent the next half hour explaining to Rajbeer that she loved him and more than anything in the world she wanted to be his. But she could not do this as his love lay elsewhere. She would be unhappy and in turn Rajbeer would become doubly miserable.
What she needed was to bear the pain for now rather than drag it for the rest of their lives..
Who knows Rajbeer maybe i will be able to move on, i am not that unlovable right.
But Rajbeer, for that i have to undo what has happened to Preeto, we need to go there now.
