Sorry for being a little late today, but I have a very good reason! Guess who got their driving license today?! :D
---------------------
Short:
The Dhillon's arrive at the party, where Neelam (Dhruv's mum) introduces Ishu to her friends. They indirecctly mock her, making Ishu feel a little out of place. Jogi-Jassi, Dhruv-Ishu and Rajbeer-Preeto dance, when everyone stops dancing looking at Rajbeer and Preeto who doesn't notice that they're the only one left dancing.
Long:
The Dhillon's arrive at the party, but are not allowed inside without an invitation card. Preeto calls Dhruv, but he doesn't hear it cause of the loud music inside. She tries calling Rajbeer too, who picks up and tells them they'll be outside right away. Dhruv apologizes saying he thought his mum would have given them the card. Preeto thanks Rajbeer individually. He tells her she's looking tall (š) and nice. :P
Dhruv's parents aren't very pleased to see the Dhillon's at the party. Dhruv's father tells Neelam (Dhruv's mother) to go and greet them alone as he wants to enjoy his drink and isn't as good at acting as her.
Neelam introduces them to a friend of her (who's all western of course), and she puts her hand forward while Beeji joins her hand and says sat sri akal ji. She tells them she's very lucky to get Dhruv as son-in-law. Beeji doesn't understand what she says as she was speaking in English, but both Masterji and Beeji says thank you.
Rajbeer and Dhruv's sir comes and asks them to go with him somewhere. Neelam tells the family that she's very pleased they came, and that she'll make sure they'll eat something here today, specially since they refused to eat at their daughters would-be house. Beeji starts talking about how she's given the kitchen a day off today, and goes on talking about how she usually saves the remaining roti's and dal and have it for lunch next day. š
Neelam takes Ishu to introduce her to her friends. The friends comment on her purse asking if it's Prada, when Ishu explains which bazaar she bought it from. They start laughing and Ishu feels a little uncomfortable.
Masterji and Beeji start talking about how they're feeling a little uncomfortable too, since they don't know anyone and because of the high music. Preeto tells them that the even though most people present might be in a higher position then them, they're standing besides them today. And that they better get used to all this, as they're Ahluwalia's samdis now. Rajbeer comes and asks them what they're doing standing alone. Masterji explains them that they don't know anyone, and Rajbeer tells them to come with him.
Neelam's friends further ask Ishu what she does. Neelam tells them she does everything - cleaning, cooking, sewing etc. The friends then asks her how far she's studied. Ishu replies she's done a MA in litterature. Neelam tells them to give her a break and let her enjoy the party.
Rajbeer takes the rest of the family to a more quite place and makes them sit. Both he and Preeto thinks about the promise to talk tonight. Rajbeer gets them something to drink and tells the waiter to take extra care of them since they're their special guests.
Ishu goes and meet Dhruv's dad, and Neelam orders two glasses of red wine for herself and Ishu, eventhough Ishu asks for water only. Ishu tries telling her that she doesn't drink, but Neelam says there's no harm in drinking it occasionally, and that it's a part of their lifestyle. Dhruv arrives just when Ishu takes the glass and tells his mum that he doesn't want Ishu to get used to drinking wine. He likes her the way she is. He then takes Ishu away from there.. Dhruv's dad tells Neelam that today our son's taking Ishu away, I hope Ishu doesn't take our son away tomorrow.
Bani insists on going dancing, but Beeji tells her not to. Jassi comes and greets the Dhillon's, and tells Preeto she's been looking for her everywhere. She tells her to join them, but Preeto says she'd rather sit there with her family. Her dad tells her to go with Jassi, and Bani reacts on Preeto getting permission to go while she was refused to dance. Jassi tells all the girls to come, and they agree except for Sonu as she'll most likely only be bored since there's no one at her age there. So, Meeta, Preeto and Bani goes with Jassi to Jogi, Dhruv, Ishu and Rajbeer.
The DJ announces the ballroom dance to start, and Jogi and Dhruv asks Jassi and Ishu for a dance. Some random guy comes and asks Bani and she agrees (kya ladki hai :P) Meeta gives her a look, but Rajbeer averts saying the guy's his junior and that he's a nice guy.
Preeto asks Rajbeer why he isn't dancing. He replies that he doesn't have any partner. Preeto tells him that any girl will say yes to dance with him. Rajbeer asks what if she denies? Preeto quickly retorts 'I won't..', then realizing what she said goes quiet. She tells him to not underestimate himself, and he tells her not to overestimate him. Preeto tells him to atleast try asking, and Rajbeer asks if she's sure. She says yes, thinking he'll ask her, but instead he goes straight past her. She gets a little annoyed that he left, but turns around to see him kneeling in front of her, asking for a dance. Meeta goes and puts Preeto's hand in his, and they go to dance.
All the pairs (and Bani and the random guy) dances to some song. Everyone stops dancing one by one and looks towards Rajbeer and Preeto who continues dancing ignorant to the fact that everyone's looking at them. The lights go off, but Rajbeer and Preeto continues dancing. Preeto looses one of her shoes while dancing, and Rajbeer picks it up and places it infront of her to put it back on (Cinderella anyone?) Both look at eachother while Rajbeer's still down on his knees (Teri Ore playing in the back).
My views
So there was a little of both Pride and Prejudice and Cinderella in today's episode. Ballroom dancing and the Cinderella getting her shoe by her Prince Charming ;) I wasn't much of a Cinderella fan when younger (I was the family's tomboy šš, but everyone knows that story)
Not much happened storywise, but it was a simple episode to watch :)
