Real-life telly Siblings celebrate rakhi
Neha Maheshwri, TNN | Aug 20, 2013, 12.00 AM ISTNo other festival celebrates brother-sister love like Rakshabandhan. Some real-life small-screen siblings talk about their equation and what's so special about it.
Ridhi Dogra Vashisth and Akshay Dogra Age difference: Akshay is older by three years Equation: Friends Common factor: Love for books Despite being the younger one, it's Ridhi who mostly stands up for an introvert Akshay. Says he, "She is very sorted and doesn't need my support. I'm not possessive or overly protective about her. I irritate her a lot. She doesn't like sharing her food and I'd always eat from her plate. We discuss projects, but don't interfere in each other's work. As kids, we used to share secrets. In fact, we would often be late for school after staying awake all night, talking. We celebrated our birthdays together for almost 12 years as they fall just a day apart." Rakhi was a grand affair when they were in Delhi, as the entire extended family would celebrate it together. But in Mumbai, hectic schedules leave them with little time. Says Akshay, "We hardly get time, so we end up celebrating a day after. I guess Rakhi has lost its charm now. But we love each other a lot and I would like to share the screen with her."
