Pramanik had success with the national 4400 metres relay team, winning silver at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, gold at the 2006 Asian Games, and gold at the 2005 Asian Indoor Games. She won three gold medals at the 2006 South Asian Games, winning the 400 and 800 m events, as well as the relay. In 2012 a rape allegation by Pramanik's female partner led to medical tests to determine her gender. Initial private tests claimed to show her to be male. Pramanik disagreed with these results and police ordered a separate government-led test as part of the trial. The results at the SSKM Government Hospital were inconclusive. The Court then directed a chromosome pattern test.
A 29-second MMS showing the athlete completely naked went viral on the internet. This video is of her undergoing a gender verification test at a private nursing home after she was arrested on June 14, 2012.
Also good point of reference
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-18704298the only way pinki is becoming a victim is the way she is being mishandled by the police
if she is a rapist, transgender or not, she deserves the punishment
but along with the fact if proven, transgender logic, she needs to be stripped of the medals though there are technicalities as well . ALS.. hormones do something, not sure .. sorry about the something something...

What interests me about the case is the whole question of how we as a society treat the Transgender community, as well as our attitudes towards homosexuality.
Often when we see transgenders on the streets, we get angry that why don't they get a job since they are so healthy and look physically capable of manual labor. We forget at the time that we ourselves have made it impossible for them to enter any educational institute by asking them to fill their gender on the admission form. Be it education, job, insurance, hospitalization, travel, census, voting - everywhere the government recognises only two genders.
