TM is back with another quote :)

The trick is not how much pain you feel - but how much joy you feel. Any idiot can feel pain. Life is full of excuses to feel pain, excuses not to live, excuses, excuses, excuses.

Umm you can probably understand my preoccupation with pain right now :)

@Narangi,

Bang on!

I am reading Shiv Purans now, actually stumbled upon DKD mahadev orum few days back, was astonished with all the knowledge so felt a need to visit these stories from a reader's perespective not a devotee's.

Shiv Puran?!! That's so much po*n happening there, you'll hardly learn anything about Shiv there.

On second thoughts, have fun :)

Refreshing to know what a randy lot we had for the pantheon isn't it?

@Chitrashi,

its an awakening, but I m more digging up these books to see how mythology has treating the females.Thanks to a fab thread on that forum I actually could see the reasons for why and how?

I had questions like y Lord Ram abandoned Sita , considering he is an incarnation of God itself and to understand why even with the Adi-Shakti- females were often traded as an item for barter. These books and that thread has provided me with a nice reasoning, I might not agree and affirm with the what happened but I find it heart-warming that atleast, unlike now, women were not so fragile emotonally and socially.

I do admit I am very skirmish while reading anything remotely carnal but I dont hesitate to discuss and question it, just reading puts everythin too graphically for me. But heck I remain as fascinated as possible.

@Zem

Right in one,

Left arm still aching, bump on head still bad, bruise on leg has turned a lovely shade - have taken two painkillers. Can't even claim I was fighting off goons or an abusive hubby. To top it all have to meet a client then the CA. Only thing I'm thankful about is that none of the bruises are so very visible :)

Now why the women are traded as barter is a different and socio-historical discussion. There is not one but 4 overlapping creation myths and unless you understand how it all happened historically and how development of society impacted religion - you wouldn't understand the workings of that.

But keeping reading the mythologies and the purans. They'll give you a better understanding of what being a Hindu is all about than the propaganda and the speeches and dogmas.

Arrey that sounds really painful.Have a warm glass of haldi milk and turn in early.Play tomorrow! Pain will be less though the bruises will be more colorful.
Rest now!

She is good ain't she. Loved Fear of Flying.

As for the Dolt, I'm reporting every post of that person as
personal attack,
attack on other members for their religion,
attack on member's family,
attack on families of national leaders :)
