While on books, there are certain words and phrases that we adopt from our reading, and at times even forget where we first eard them. So here's the game:
I'll say a word or a phrase and you have to guess it's origin. It needn't be from a novel per se, but no movie lines please.
So here's the first one:

PS: I loved it so much, when I first read it that to this day it's a part of my permanent vocabulary. Doesn't matter that most people do not get the reference. The sheer joy when someone guesses it more than makes up.
