Sidney, I wish I knew how long they're taking this on for. For some reason, 8.26 left me asking a lot of questions (some rhetorical questions, some genuine questions, some questions we had asked before):
1. Does Vihaan really believe it's his anniversary with the Petite Wacko? Has he even seen documentation for a "ceremony"? Does he ever wonder why his own Moms didn't know he was "married" and he had to introduce his "wife" to them when he came home? Why is he written as taking this woman's word as gold, especially since he's been home for awhile now? Thank goodness he began asking Aarushi questions about herself this week; this needs to happen more often.
2. Aarushi's trick to give Wacko a taste of her own medicine and to trigger her unhinged behavior for Vihaan to witness worked, but does she have a follow-up plan to counter the Wacko's insistence that a SR happen to prove Vihaan's commitment to her? Or will this be left up to Vihaan to handle?
3. What is Vihaan's secret to tolerating that absurd "Veeehaaanjeee" squeal she does?
4. How does being around the Wacko really make Vihaan feel? I'm not surprised he feels guilty about the slap even though the Wacko's behavior warranted a trip to the police station. She's brought out something in him that he doesn't like. He's got a full-fledged temper, but physical violence against women isn't something he condones and it's not in his nature. He is making an effort with this sham marriage and wants to treat the Wacko well because that is his nature. However, we know he already wonders why he feels more connected to Aarushi than to her, and his ease with Aarushi has been one of the more consistent parts in the writing for this track so far. Saw it again in 8.26, not only when he stops Wacko from choking Aarushi, but also when he goes out for that breather after the drama. When Aarushi joins him outside, he freely releases his feelings of guilt and confusion to her. Instinctive. Effortless. I liked how that played. But it begs the question: will anyone try to get him to verbalize how he really feels about the Wacko other than obligation or (misplaced) gratitude?
5. What do Aarushi and Vihaan get themselves into? (In the preview, they both look like they have paint, or something like it, splattered on them.) 😆
6. Why does the writing reduce the Vatsal Moms to simply taunting this woman? Not that I didn't enjoy it; Mini's quip about Vihaan's slap was hilarious. 😆 Still, why are they constantly watered down to service this badly written vamp? It would be nice to see them more proactive in their assistance to Aarushi as they were the first week Vihaan returned. Also, why hasn't Vihaan sought out Narmada to find out more about his childhood, his father, and her? Or why hasn't Mini offered to take him out on one of their jogs (in an effort to see if it stirs any memories and it would do him good for recovery anyway)? Instead, we are still given long play-by-play commentary on all the stupidity that goes on in that psycho's head.
7. Does the Viper's manipulative SR happen? *cue suspenseful music* The potential parallels here -- Aarushi had promised delay as a sign of loyalty putting their marriage on the line meanwhile this shameless Wacko will demand consummation as a sign of loyalty from a man suffering from memory loss while his pregnant wife stands just feet away from him. If anyone should stop this threatened SR, then it really would be fitting if Vihaan does it.
8. When will episodes stop focusing on the Wacko, her tiny brain, and her tantrums? 🥱 Let's get some momentum going on this, writers!
