Roli's Birthday Scene
IN THE MORNING AT ROSID'S HOUSE
Sid snored away on the bed. He slept flat on his back whilst his arms were stretched out on either side of he bed. Roli got out of the bathroom and saw Sid still sleeping. She looked up at the clock which read 7.15. She sat on the bed and watched Sid sleep for a bit. But then she realized she had to wake him up as he needed to go to work and after that it was her time to keep Sid. She tapped him on his arm and called him.
"Siddhant ji. Wake up. You have to go office."
Sid heard Roli calling him but was too lazy and tired to respond. Instead he turned around and faced his back towards Roli, trying to keep his self in sleeping mode.
Roli knew Sid wouldn't wake up this way. She got off the bed and walked to the other side of the bed, the way Sid was facing his self towards. She kneeled on the floor and this time decided to wake him up a different way. She got hold of her long and wet hair and shook them over Sid. Sid felt cold sprinkles all over his face and arms. He knew it was Roli and this time he had to respond or she would do something worse to wake him up. Keeping his eyes closed he responded to Roli
"Whats the problem Roli?" He asked sleepily
"Siddhant ji its half 7 in the morning and you have to go to work." Replied Roli.
"Is that it? Roli I have and evening shift today till 12 at night. And yesterday I had a night shift anyway. I'm tired. Let me sleep" Sid moaned.
The smile on Roli's face faded away. 'It's Siddhant ji's evening shift today, meaning I can't spend my birthday with him' Roli thought as she became sad. She walked away into the kitchen to make some breakfast for herself and let Sid sleep.
IN THE EVENING AT ROSID'S HOUSE.
Sid got ready and Roli helped him to. She handed him his shoes and sprayed his perfume on him.
"Chalo Roli. I'm going now. I might come a bit late after midnight. And you go see your Simar didi and Mata ji. You'll be a bit entertained. I'll pick you up from there if I come early."
Roli nodded at Sid and he left the house, shutting the door behind him.
An hour later Roli also left and went to the BW house.
BW HOUSE IN THE EVENING
Roli sat with most of the family members and was having a chat. She looked happy from outside although she was upset from inside. Everyone wished he a happy birthday and loaded her with gifts.
Roli thought of Sid whilst she looked at her watch. It was quite late. It was already 10pm
Roli went to the kitchen as she wanted to stay busy and not think about it. Simar was also there. She saw Roli entering the kitchen.
"Roli. What are you doing here?" She asked
"Nothing didi. I just thought I'd help you out with some work."
"Acha. Do me a favour first. Go to the terrace and get my mobile. I left it there whilst sorting the clothes out."
Roli nodded and walked up the stairs towards the terrace
As she reached her had towards the handle to open it the door opened itself. Roli was confused. She went in and looked around to see who was behind the door. A moment later she felt someone grab her from the waist. She felt scared and looked back immediately. It was dark therefore she couldn't see who it was. She turned towards the person and pushed him back and tried to walk off. Her index finger was grabbed and hooked on to another.
"Siddhant ji" Roli was surprised. With a click the lights turned on and Roli looked back but no one was no longer there.
She looked around and was shocked to see the terrace decorated in pink and red amd purple and white and all the seven colours of the rainbow. A smile shone on her face. She walked around the terrace as she looked all the way around. In the center of the terrace was a medium sized table with a 4 tier cake. Roli waked towards it. It read 'Happy Birthday to my life, my wife Roli' in fancy writing and it had a flowery decoration coloured in pink. Beside the cake were lots of wrapped boxes. They were her gifts. Roli got super excited and even forgot about looking for Sid. The boxes were wrapped in multicoloured wrapping paper with lots of happy birthday messages.
After finally getting over her excitement she realised Sid wasn't there. She looked around everywhere for Sid. 'Where has he gone after doing so much for me. Siddhant ji. Come out na please." Roli pleaded. There wasn't any response. Roli got worried.
"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to my Roli..."
Roli heard Sid singing happy birthday but where was he? Roli looked around and felt Sid's presence. She walked the way her heart guided her. Sid watched from behind the wall on the other side of the terrace. As he laughed to himself and looked back up Roli went missing. He looked around but she wasn't there.
"Siddhant ji. I'm here"
Siddhant heard a voice coming from behind him. He looked behind suddenley finding Roli behind him. She held his hand and hooked her index finger on to his.
"What did you think? Your Roli won't be able to look for you? I can feel where you are even when your not in front of my eyes because you live in my heart."
