Siddhant is shocked. Speechless... He can't believe what Roli just said.

"Roli..." he begins.

"Please don't say no," she says, "I've already given them word."

"But Roli, why did you say like that? Even after all that happened! We've already decided that I won't be getting into this again."

"Not we' Siddhantji, just you," says Roli quietly.

Siddhant is very worried now. If he had any choice, he wouldn't have decided to quit. But, his family was at stake. He can't risk their lives, especially Roli's.

"No Roli," he protests, "I can't do it. I'm not ready to risk our family's well being. I'm not ready to risk you. If something happens to you then what will happen to me?"

"Nothing will happen Siddhantji," she replies confidently, "have faith." She holds Siddhant's face gently. "I'm a lioness remember? So a lioness always needs a lion."

"But Roli..."

"I don't want you to run away and hide Siddhantji. You're not a coward. You're a lion, remember? So I want you to fight back. Be strong. Show them who you are... what you are."

Siddhant doesn't know what to say. He is lost in Roli's mesmerizing gaze.

"And most of all... I want you to believe in yourself and follow your dreams. Be what you've always wanted to be. And much more... you know why? Because I love you yaar..."

Siddhant is very touched. His eyes begin to sting with tears. "I love you too yaar," he says quietly and kisses her.

They're quiet for a moment, lost in the warmth of their understanding and love for each other. Siddhant thanks God quietly. He feels blessed to have someone like Roli. Someone who trusts him; loves him, cares for him, be there for him when he's down and most of all, someone who can hold his hand and say that everything's going to be okay... someone who picks up the broken pieces and mends it again...

Roli pulls herself back. "I'll get the ointment," saying so she gets up, but Siddhant holds her back. She turns to look at him.

He has that look in his eyes - that look when he is in a trance... as if mesmerized. He is definitely thinking something. He makes her sit down again. It's quiet. Dead quiet. Roli struggles to look into his eyes. Her eyes start to water from the strain and embarrassment. She begins to blush and quickly looks away.

"Roli," he begins quietly, "what's wrong?"

"Nothing," she replies quietly.

"Sure?"

"Haan."

"Then why were you crying before?" he asks.

Roli looks up at him, her eyes wide with shock. She is not blushing anymore, rather, pale. Oh God, she thinks deeply worried, what will I say? I wonder if he knows what I was thinking then.

"Tell me yaar," says Siddhant.

I have to get out of here! Change the topic! Roli is frantic now. Siddhant senses her tension. "Ermm... I wasn't Siddhantji, you are just imagining things. I'll get the ointment," she jumps up again, this time to just get away from Siddhant's volley of questions.

But he tugs her back again and forces her to sit in front of him. "You can stuff the ointment up your bottom," he jokes without smiling, "do you think that I'm an idiot?"

Roli's eyes are like gooseberries now. On one hand, she's afraid whether she'll speak out her feelings and on the other, she's afraid whether she'll lose it. Hey Matarani! What will Siddhantji think? That she doubts his fidelity? That his Roli is jealous? That she doesn't trust him?

"Do you think that I'm a fool?" says Siddhant with fake seriousness, "I know what you were thinking Roli."

Oh no! Roli is tensed as heck.

"I caught you red handed, didn't I?" he says firmly, "I know how scared you are of Dettol. Even before I asked for it you freaked out."

BING! Roli is surprised. Now that was something she wasn't expecting. She stares at him in shock and relief, but at the same time, she feels embarrassed. Siddhant bursts out laughing. "My God! You're like a small kid Roli! You know how kids are, even when they hear injection' they'll start crying."

Roli's cheeks are scarlet red now. She feels so embarrassed. For a moment she thought...

"What did you think? That I was smooching?" he laughs hysterically.

Oh no... she feels her heart sink. That Dettol thing was a gag. He knows what I was thinking... this is very bad. She is so embarrassed now that her eyes go watery, in spite of that, she grins awkwardly.

He notices that she's upset and stops laughing. "Oye! So serious? I was just kidding yaar."

Roli quickly looks away and gets up. "I'll get the ointment."

But Siddhant pulls her down again. "If you tell me about that ointment one more time, I'll empty the tube down your throat. Understand?"

"But Siddhantji..."

"Chup!"

"The doctor has clearly instructed to -" But Siddhant cuts her off.

"Shut up Roli! Last warning! One more time... If you tell me about the ointment or that stupid doctor, then I'll kiss you to death. Get it?"

A broad grin breaks across Roli's face. "Siddhantji, you rascal!"

He laughs and pulls her close, relieved that she smiled at last. "Hey Uparwaale! Finally!" He is quiet for a moment, then, "why did you think like that yaar?"

Roli is shocked now. She straightens up. He's coming to it again!

"Do you ever think that I'll do something like that?"

She looks away. "No," she says quietly, "I guess it was just the angle at which I saw what confused me."

"Don't think like that. Okay?"

She nods quietly. "I'll get the ointment," she says with a smirk and gets up.

"Oh no, not the ointment again," he smiles.
