Suhana Corner: I'm no MasterChef!

Hi everyone, I had varied experiences handling household chores, managing the house and trying my hand at cooking. It was tough but as usual, Ishaan came through as my savior.

After I enjoyed fasting for Ishaan and performing my first Karwa Chauth pooja, I was shocked to know that Ishaan kept a fast for me as well. I was stunned when he fainted due to hunger. It was really touching to know he loves me so much.
Later, Ishaan claimed he was tired of eating takeouts, so I decided to cook for him. In fact, I was being nice and accommodating about it, but he challenged me, therefore I wanted to prove him wrong. I faced the challenge head on and decided to make dinner just like we used to have in Delhi.
But my claims crash landed as the food was too salty. Poor Ishaan didn't want to hurt my feelings, so he pretended to like the dish. Am I a bad housewife? Isn't it a rule that all housewives should know cooking and impress their husbands with their culinary skills?
I promised to learn cooking and feed him delicious meals. I got help, tips and recipes from Rajni didi much to Ishaan's amusement. But once again all my attempts failed. I was miserable at cooking and my loving husband consoled me when I was upset. I am no MasterChef in the kitchen. No matter how much I tried, despite my best efforts, my cooking wasn't up to the mark. It is tough to cook an elaborate meal which was my endeavour. I wonder how these Chefs we watch on TV prepare food in a jiffy - or perhaps it seems so. I am sure they work real hard. I guess cooking is an art.
I was remorseful for spoiling Ishaan's dinner. Here we are away from the family and I was feeling low that I couldn't even give Ishaan proper food. Ishaan, my darling husband, sensed my desperation and promised me that we would get a maid for the household work. We had the most romantic candle light dinner ever. He is indeed the best husband in the world.

Amar chutki tomake onek onek dhonnnobad! You are so prompt in posting new articles!! Well done!!

As for cooking? Cooking in any form is an art. It takes a long time to grasp and master. One must keep trying, keep practicing to enhance their knowledge and skills of this craft! Once you overcome the shortcomings, you'll soon become accustomed to the ways of the nitty gritty details. The satisfaction you get from feeding your loved ones is truly priceless and it makes all the effort and hard work totally worth it!!
