Suhana's Corner: Trouble comes in threes

Hi friends, this week was rigged with trouble, tension and some shockers. At first, it was Inder bhaiya meeting Bade papa, dadaji not forgiving dadiji for hiding the fact that she forced Badi ma to meet bade papa and later Ishaan, Ilesh and Inder bhaiya lost Khushi and the last straw was Ilesh bhaiya getting arrested. All in all it has been one stressful week.
The first trouble we had at home was when Inder bhaiya informed us that he and Panna didi met Bade papa, who has been in town for a while now. He said Badi ma knew about him and even met him. Everyone in the family was taken aback to hear this, but Radha bua, papa and ma knew about bade papa while Dadi was aware that Badi ma had met Bade papa. When this revelation came forth, all hell broke loose. We were all were shocked and furious to know that Badi ma had met Bade papa on the sly- thrice!! Dadi confessed she had forced Badi ma to do so but Badi ma didn't let Dadi take any blame and added that she too wanted to see him once. Though Dadi apologised to Dadaji who had forbidden her to talk or meet Bade papa, he refused to forgive her.
It is really tough to right a wrong after so many years. I understand and empathize with Inder bhaiya and Panna didi, who missed on having a dad in their lives. I am sure it must have been tough. A wrong done in the past always affects the future and when you are hurt by a loved one - especially a parent – it is never forgotten or forgiven. I know it has been tougher on Badi ma who lived all her life without a husband. I was without Ishaan when he had forgotten me, and I know how difficult it was for me. In fact difficult is an understatement. It was mental torture and agony to not have my husband with me. So, I totally understand why Badi ma did what she did. I don't blame her, but I also realise the hurt Dadaji must have felt to know dadi went against his wishes. I also feel for dadi who only wanted to know about the well being of her son. This situation is a vicious circle and no one is happy. No one is totally wrong either but everyone is a victim of their own circumstances.
I spoke to Badi ma and I hope I was able to help her in whatever little way. I knew she has residual anger and wants answers from Bade papa. I told her that she is a very strong woman, just like my mother and her kids will understand her. I could feel her pain and the pain that has resonated over the years. I was worried for her and wondered if she would be able to handle so much hurt. She said she was fine but I didn't believe her.
Amidst this scenario, Deepak's victory at the boxing match was something to cheer about. The family had come together to celebrate that but once again dark clouds gathered as Inder bhaiya's boss told him about Ilesh bhaiya's company asking for a bribe. When he broke the news at home, Ilesh bhaiya was furious and hurt that the family was questioning his income. Though some tried to make excuses for his behaviour attributing it to his nave attitude, others felt he might be ignorant. Ilesh bhaiya showed Badi ma a diary where he keeps all records of his business deals which pacified everyone a bit.
Later Inder bhaiya, Ilesh bhaiya and Ishaan went shopping and they took Khushi with them to the mall. In the midst of all the shopping, they mistakenly exchanged Khushi with another baby. The brothers didn't realise that the baby they got home wasn't Khushi. I saw this and couldn't believe my eyes. They didn't even notice that the baby had been swapped. They are so irresponsible. Everyone was shocked and reprimanded them. Thankfully they returned to the mall and got Khushi back. The least I can say is that we were all relieved and a major tragedy was averted. Being a parent one has to be vigilant all the time- yes even if the baby is in a pram. These days you hear scary stories about kids being kidnapped and this incident has troubled me some.
But as they say trouble comes in threes, so we had additional trouble. The cops came home looking for Ilesh bhai with a search warrant and arrested him. It turned out that Inder's company had lodged a complaint against Ilesh bhaiya which led to his arrest. We were all stunned as Ilesh bhaiya blamed Inder bhaiya for his arrest. I somehow managed to handle the family and console Disha didi and Rajni didi who were feeling bad for their husbands. It is a distressing time for my family and I realise I have to be responsible and take care of them. Knowing my family, they will all stand together and find a solution to this problem.
