It was a lot of fun and all of us enjoyed ourselves. Let me start by taking you through the highlights of my week. So here goes…
As I mentioned in my earlier message to you all, I have been spending a lot of time watching shows on television and reading magazines in an attempt to become an ideal bahu and wife. I've benn following most of the pointers, but unfortunately, I took some of the advice quite literally and went to bed wearing full pancake makeup and heavy jewellery. I cannot tell you how uncomfortable I was. When Badi Maa saw me in my state she told me that if I wanted to be an ideal bahu, I just had to spread love selflessly. I think that is very good advice and I feel that I should have directly consulted Badi ma rather than watching television shows. Badi Maa is like a mother to me and I truly adore her. I want to thank my mother who has sent an angel. Ishaan is very lucky to get such a wonderful family. His family is the reason why he is such a good person. I have to thank him for bringing Badi Maa and the rest of the family members into my life.
Not only Badi Maa, but other members of the family too are so understanding. They are so generous in expressing their love for one another and every now and the they spring a surprise. Just like Ilesh Bhaiya and Disha Bhabhi who surprised us by bringing home Italian food as Ilesh Bhaiya got his first salary. They ordered pasta, risotto and garlic bread. I haven't eaten Italian food in such a long time and it was so nice eating all my favourite dishes with my family members . I also discovered the beauty of Ilesh Bhaiya and Disha Bhabhi's happy marriage. Both of them love and respect each others feelings which I find when Papa talks in front of my mother's photo and I'm slowly learning that it is the success mantra for a good marriage.
For the first time since I got married, I had a huge fight with Manju aunty, our neighbor. The silly woman was being ridiculous and making pointless allegations against my family which I could not tolerate it. She kept praising her daughter and criticizing all of us. The argument was quite bad and at the end she got quite afraid of me, as nobody from the Kashyap family had bothered arguing with her before. It felt good fighting with her, I must admit. But I mostly did it to defend my family.
I felt quite awful when Dadaji and Dadiji were reminiscing over his friend Imtiaz. They recalled some great moments spent with him. I sat with Dadaji to cheer him up and we got talking and then I asked him if he had any wish. He confessed that he wanted to take Dadi on a scooter. So now I'm getting Ishaan's scooter ready, so that Dadaji can take Dadi on a romantic ride. I want to do the best I can to ensure their happiness and spread the joy and love that they have so generously bestowed upon me.
I've had a great week with the Kashyaps and hope that I have more such weeks. If you guys have any ideas how I can improve my image as a bahu, write in to me at suhana@starplus.in . I would love to hear from you. Meanwhile, don't forget to watch Sasural Genda Phool every Monday to Friday at 7.30 pm on STAR Plus.
Hey Suhana,
I am Roshni Thakkar Suchde from USA, and someone who doesn't miss out watching your show everyday even after working 10 hours. I just want to wish your entire team and especially you for such a wonderful job. Also, do let your creative team know that they are doing an excellent job with the show because they show positive things in the show which is what a television should actually show to the public. At one point I had stopped watching Indian television because of all this melodrama. But guess what now I'm loving it only because of Sasural Genda Phool. So keep up the good work.
Suhana: Hi Roshni, thanks for liking the family and praising me so much. I'm glad you like the show. Keep watching. Take care
Hi Suhana, I'm Nidhi Mayekar. I watch your show every day. I love it and find it very cute. Please keep laughing and don't leave the Kashyaps
Suhana: Hey Nidhi, don't worry. I'm not leaving the Kashyaps because I love the family. Please continue watching the show
Hi Suhana, you guys are doing a brilliant job. My family likes the show very much and enjoy thoroughly. I am glad that unlike regular daily soaps, you guys have made a different serial wherein core family values and bounding with fun loving attitude is presented. In every serial we watch one pulling other or planning for killing. But this is the show which teaches to forgive each other and give love, affection and care to each and every member of family. My only worry is that such serials are not accepted much by mass and Star people don't pull it off from air shortly. I would like to watch it as many years as "Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi bahu thi" went on air at least.
Last but not the least you carry saris very well. Love to all family members.
Nidhi Sharma
Suhana: Hey Nidhi, I am glad to hear from you that you care so much for our family and remember shows with clean heart never fails. We are not going anywhere. So just relax and enjoy.
