Pratigya and SGP are the only shows I watch currently and you could not get more contrasting shows than these two. One is so harsh and in your face while the other is subtle and soft but as a viewer I get entertained by both. Never realised the 'lack of unnecessary weeping' factor in both shows but its true. The protaganist in Pratigya doesn't cry at every given moment at all, she weeps when you expect her to and SGP makes the audience cry with correct dose of emotions.

The only production house to REALLY change the portrayal of protagonists is YRF. But alas, they are given the "unsuccessful" tag.The YRF shows are different as they are for a more urban audience....Rishta.com is a class apart....but it is sad indeed that they are given such pathetic treatment by the channel in question....there is deffo an audience out there for them.....luckily SGP is not getting shortchanged that way by SP....Sony is a much more pathetic channel.
