Dhanashri Kulkarni/Hill Road Media 10TH STAR Parivaar Awards was very lucky for the Kashayap family from Sasural Genda Phool. Both Ishaan and Badi ma Shailaja, got their first award in STAR Parivaar awards. While Ishaan won the award for the Best Devar, his badi ma, Shailaja won the award for the Favourite Maa.

How does it feel to have bagged your debut STAR Parivaar awards? Ishaan: "It is a good feeling that now I have become an adorable devar of the family. Thank you STAR for making me a member of the family but at the same time Jay is also happy because it's his first award ever so this is what he had to say, "For me it's like a dream come true because my mom had dreamt about me being in the STAR family." Shailaja (Badi Ma): "Thank you STAR Parivaar but at the same I want to thank my writer Mitali, who has carved this character so well. I feel happy that the audiences identify with me. I am happy that STAR Plus completed its 10 years and I am in association with STAR right from the days of Tu Tu Main Main in which I was bahu and now I am Badi ma. I was surprised to know that my husband was a member of the jury because he never told that to me. I am happy that Sachin gave me the award. The real credit goes to the writer of the show Mitali, who has created Shailaja."

What kind of rapport do you have with Suhana and the other actors of the show?
Ishaan: "It's very good and now we all have become family. I have learnt so many things from Badi Ma and as a person she is very sweet. Suhana is a good actress and has good sense of humour."

Shailaja (Badi Ma): "Suhana is a very sweet girl and a good actress. The same goes for Ishaan and the other co-actors. In this three month old serial, we have bonded very well."

Tell us about your performance from SPA? How was it performing with Malaika Arora Khan? Were you nervous?
It was superb. I had never thought that I would be performing with Malaika Arora Khan. Earlier, I felt nervous but later on I started enjoying it."

Describe Ishaan to your fans?
"Ishaan Kashayap is very understanding and patient but at the same time he is very sweet and cute. He is deeply in love with Suhana. I really liked the line Ishaan mein intezhar ki shakti hain, what a thought."

What kind of response are you getting from the viewers?
Ishaan: " I am getting a good response from the audiences, right from ladies to the girls, all of them love my role and they say you are so sweet and adorable. Your eyes speak whatever you want to convey."

Shailaja (Badi Ma): "People love all the characters and I am happy that now also people love such family oriented shows which are less glossy."

How similar or dissimilar is Jay to Ishaan?
"You will find many similar things. You will find out one thing which is dissimilar, that I don't have the patience and I am not that simple as Ishaan is."

What kind of a girl can charm Ishaan?
"I am deeply in love with Suhana but for Jay it has to be sweet, simple and less brainy."

What can be expected as far as Ishaan and Suhana's future is concerned from the show?
Ishaan: "I want the audiences to watch out for it."
Badi Ma: "Suhana will create some problem as usual but my Ishaan will handle the situation very calmly."
