Arshicsji, glad to see you again here. 😛 At the same time I could understand that you are feeling empty and strange and still for you the show's closure hasn't sunk in. Me too...sailing in the same boat, but in a slightly different way. I'm unable to comprehend if I miss the show or not, but I can undeniably admit that I terribly miss watching GR as saraswathichandra as well as your wonderful inputs on the episodes. The forum suddenly looks lacklustre. Everyone must be really at a loss.
We were the ardent followers of the show in the good old days. When the show started to slide downhill we ranted, protested, but felt a sense of allegiance and commitment towards the show and stood by it. Later when the show was decimated to the maximum magnitude and was in a shambles at one stage we screamed, disapproved, yet didn't call it quits completely and permanently; but ultimately turned into habitual viewers of the show. (Misplaced loyalties and habits are hard to break! 😲).
Personally I very rarely watched the show at 7.30pm. After a certain point SC for me was a weekly dose rather than a daily ritual. So both me and my recorder are 'in mourning' now. However, most of us concurred with the fact that the show had to end since there was no story left to tell. In the same manner, with the same sane and realistic attitude we can bring ourselves to accept the end of the show and bid a final goodbye (slowly, but surely).
The key factors that were binding us to the show till the end were those golden episodes that left indelible imprints on us, the charismatic leads, last but not least our endearing and enticing laddoo. The lead actors in the initial stages gained immense traction with their allure, chemistry and prowess, though largely diminished midway only these factors had sustained the show (which was on life-support) to the end.
Saras and kumud - how these two wonderfully crafted characters captivated our hearts at the first sight and gradually yet wholly drew us into their life, into their magic and held us spellbound with their charm and magnetism; at the same time mystified and awed us with their complex, individualistic yet exemplary personality traits. They took us through their touching and tumultuous journey and also into their relationship which was defined by perennial love, subtlety and deep sensitivity. They fought against their adverse fate, stood together in an unflinching determination to win. We too traversed with them, showering them with our love, empathy and support though at times we questioned their self-inflicted pain. Destiny played all its cruel games on them, put their love to the test countless times. Together they endured the onslaught, yet faltered on occasions, but ultimately regained their footing. All resilience, grace of almighty and the power of love resided in them shielded them against all odds and they rose like a phoenix in all instances.
Eventually destiny withdrew from the game and decided to reward them richly for their unconditional love, unparalleled bonding and unshakeable faith in their love. Saras and kumud finally took a bow for who they were. The arrival of sanskrithi completed them and marked a new 'era' in their life. And their journey came to a glorious finish; but we staunch samud fans who undertook the journey with them are now left in the lurch facing the dead end. Now we need to take the journey backward reminiscing about the lovely and wondrous memories they've left for us to cherish. And we will, for sure. The incredible tale of celebration of love, tragedy and triumph would remain etched in all our minds.
Arshiji, kindly come back to this thread and to 'alvidha' (I mean the post, not literally) for just a few more days.
