Once upon a time there was a girl called kumud sundari Desai
The pride of Desais, she was loyal to her family and would do anything for them
She fell in love, and was looking forward to becoming kumud sundari Vyas
tragically things didn't work out, but mind you she was still a Desai,
and so followed the path chosen for her by her father
Once married, she became Kumud dharmadhikari
The name dharmadhikari became her identity
and she did everything she could to live up to it
She was loyal to her husband and so kept her family out of her personal affairs
Even though she had a chance to go back to her old love,
she did his shradh to protect her new name.
Again, sadly things didn't work out.
She filed for divorce and soon she would again be a Desai
Once again she looked forward to being a Vyas ,
and would no longer be dharmadhikari
But as it happened, the divorce didn't come through
Due to an error of judgement by her
and now no one is sure who kumud sundari is
Well in a sense she is all the above
In a sense she is none of the above
And there lies the problem
As long as she remains a Desai , kusum will keep hoping that her didi will do what didis alway do-
give their fav toy to the tantrum throwing crying howling baby of the house.
As long as she remains a dharmadhikari ,
pramaad will keep reminding of her wifely duties and obligations.
As long she keeps her hopes of becoming a Vyas,
Saras will keep expecting her to reciprocate and
give due respect to their love.
Ab it's high time Kumud decides who she is
A Desai - then she can do the mahan sacrifice of
gift wrapping Saras and gifting him to the bawling
baby - for nothing is more important for than being a good Desai
A dharmadhikari - then she can go and live in her sasural,
do pati seva till pramaad dies, do all the
vrats and make him live forever and do seva of her saasuma,
Saras can have a real shradh instead,
for nothing is more important to her than being a dharmadhikari
A Vyas - put him above all else, accept her love,
fight her husband, her sister, and all the random
aunties for her love and get married to him ASAP.
Then everyone else can figure how they deal with
their problems, instead of dumping them on her.
But for this kumud sundari has to decide who she wants to be,
today all the three names are up for
takes, it's her call, and hers only.
Till then she will keep vacillating between these three names
and keep the hopes of the likes of kusum
and pramaad alive, and keep killing Saras, a bit by bit, day after day
