I felt they chose the song as the lyrics were more suited to the drama that followed. All these months we have or I have waited to see a garba dance. We finally got a TRP dance but the song, moment, mood everything was inappropriate.


Edit - song was longer than needed I guess because Jen is on vacay. Thoda filler ka kaam bhi kiya. Maybe a little bit of dragging and use of body doubles to be expected next few days.

I commend you & everyone else who posted for coming out with bytes today. I'm honestly appalled and lost for words. Though to be fair, Team SC were up against the wall here. Thus today the blame lies not on bad writing or shoddy execution or cast disinterest. The Kalika overdose was purely filler & to disguise the fact that the female lead was off to re-phrase GR "performing somewhere else"...

Here's a bit of off-screen tid-bit that I found v interesting & am posting here because...It is good to share:

This "vacay" came out of the blue for the SC cast. And they all had to scramble to cover it. Why? Because Mr. Photographic Memory has no track left in his show anymore. His female lead has got accidentally married to his younger brother & he has no one to romance with now (karma rocks!) you say ess-ache-eye-tee about our show, you face a ess-ache-eye-tee storm in yours. So he was given a holiday. And apparently, he only had to crook his tattooed finger for J to come running (shades of Kumud), leaving the whole SC team high & dry. Luckily (or unluckily) media was finally allowed on sets (I suspect, strategically) and even GR was pushed to say something about it (his first, mind you!)... So Mr. & Mrs. You-give-a-bad-name-to-married-couples-in-showbiz, this is from an SC fan, your exquisite timing effing sucks!

There is no way in hell, any producer would sanction a "holiday" in the middle of the most crucial highpoints of the story. Not when the whole on-going drama revolves like a besotted puppy dog around the high-heels of your character.

Also, she who cannot be deigned to give interviews with her cast & for her show... Is back on the soapbox singing her broken record spiel again - let's all brace ourselves for cling-fest part two... Because they gotta shut up the insistent rumors about what happened when Mr. & his co-star went to SA. And they've enlisted SBS to accomplish that. Now, GR's "performing elsewhere" makes total sense.

why so much negativity for jen ...all have their own lives...next gr will be doing nach baliye 6 hosting so he will too be having body doubles when not needed much...gr too went to uk ...well all this is his personal life which he is using for his career!!!!

now ...u call gr work holic and jenny names...thats partiality ...this is gr's best time in career and he is making best out of it...grabbing every opportunity he gets and by God's grace am sure he will get best actors award too (i want him to have it ,its more my dream then his !!!)

jen is not much into working and is satisfied with her one show...so why blame her ...come on she wants to relax and live her life...so why always keep blaming her...all r taking holidays ..shiny went for 2 week to spend time with her bf ..why not talk about that.(ok she is not lead but is the crew ok )

I have nothing to do with her husband but i can very well identify with her life style where she wants to enjoy her work and personal life and relax...she deserves it after so much of hard work she has done in past...a happy personal and career life...lucky woman ..i agree!

Ivy, aapne jyada kuchh bina kahe bahut kuchh banata chaha hai.. I understand it.

But hey we are not concerned about what X person says about my show coz we know our show's caliber (I know u agree here). We r not worried if Y has track/work in its own show coz I am happy to think only abt the show which is actually close to my heart. But when some Z person adversely affects my show to this extent, I feel sick and annoyed about the bad luck surrounding this once-upon-a-time beautiful and magical story.

Now I hope whoever is responsible for this mess (X/Y/Z) realizes and even pays for it at some level.

GR went to UK for a StarPlus event and to meet fans from the show. He was doing promotions for SC, when has Jen ever done that? The only time she was made to appear in an event with the cast and crew she acted as though she wanted to run away from there.

And NB schedule will be worked out in advance, if he is doing it. This "holiday" was simply sprung upon everyone and the result is there for all to see... Near ten minutes of naach and dhol in today's epi. If Jennifer was there, like she should be, this unnecesary OTT filler won't have been needed. Everyone was so hyped about this week... Powerhouse acting, taut pace and what not was looked forward to... Today was a big deal in SC narrative graph... It landed with a resounding crash. Now many have no hopes from the rest of the week.

Not partiality. I've admired Jen for her acting chops too many times to count. But right now, I'm calling a spade a spade. No one ever made an issue about her previous vacation, because it was sanctioned and planned in advance. She shot her bank epi's and went. But for this, she just up and went. Now that is partiality.

Precisely. The show does not revolve around Shiny's character, and her absence is not felt in the larger scheme, so your argument is invalid. Plus, with the first line (bolded) are you advocating unprofessionalism?

I don't begrudge her that, but she is pushing the bounds of reasonable behaviour, once again, after the drama's of the past. She's burning bridges for herself, one casted steel at a time.
