Dear Friends,

I have never written a petition before. This is my first attempt.

This is my note to Star Plus

Bring back the Glory of Saraswatichandra

They made a handsome couple- Saras and Kumud. For four months, they mesmerized us. The air was always filled with romantic anticipation. The two leads slipped into the role of Saras and Kumud so beautifully. Kumud- a headstrong girl, firmly on the side of truth. Saras, strong yet childlike, quietly loving and caring, with an unfathomable exterior. So wonderful was their portrayal as Saras and Kumud, that when we were watching them come live on screen, we forgot that they were actually Gautam and Jennifer ...for us they were the loving and loved, Saras and Kumud.

We adored their interactions. We waited for them. We watched mesmerized as their love for each other grew with time,.We truly believed them to be soulmates. We watched Saras evolve from a shy withdrawn lover to a happy intense one. We loved the fact that Kumud was a perfect match for Saras.

We loved the entire family and their interactions too . Vidyachaturs spontaneous love for his friend's son and his reciprocation of it. Dugbas love for Saraswatis son. Guniyals motherly understanding of her daughters predicaments. The settings were so exquisite. We happily watched the love between the leads grow in a joyful environment. It was all so real, so heartwarming and so touching. So much so, that we didn't even mind a bit of "vampism" from Guman... Afterall it was working towards bringing the two lovers together.

And then ...Kumuds marriage happened.

We are extremely sorry to say, that the show took a gradual downslide from then on. The show digressed from a poignant love story to one with typical kitchen politics.

The initial story was carefully woven with well written dialogues, exceptionally well picturised , and brilliantly enacted by the leads. It was a lot of hard work, by a lot of people with their hearts at the right place. However, the last couple of months have been quite the opposite. There is no purpose to the story. There is no logic. There is no continuity. The dialogues need enormous fine tuning. The scenes seem rushed and like patchwork. The leads - our own wonderful Kumud and Saras, appear strained and bogged down by an unconvincing script.

You are a channel which boasts of "Nayi Soch".

Then please show us the courage of Kumud, and her standing by the "truth". Let her stand up and admit her love for Saraswatichandra. Let her walk out of this false marriage with an abusive husband. Let this woman of substance not spend her time having cat fights with maids. Can she not be shown to go out and earn her own living as a teacher, maybe?

Saras was always righteous. Why can he not be shown spending his time , more constructively. He is afterall, a Harvard graduate? If Saras and Kumud could be shown to work so hard to help poor Ilaben, can they not come together to bail out the Vidyachatur family ?

No, they don't need to walk out of Budhidhans house and rush into each others arms. They need to be in an environment, where their love can grow in strength ... it is afterall their love story isn't it?

We, the viewers of Saraswatichandra, ardent fans of the show and its leads, plead, request and request again :

• Kindly alter the track to give us a show of substance, in line with your "nayi Soch".
• Kindly stop massacring Kumud and Saras's characters . We love them too much
• Please place the story in the right context and take it forward to a logical conclusion
• Please do give obstacles and separations between the leads, but make them more believable
• Please let the love between our leads, grow in a happy and positive environment
• Please give Gautam and Jennifer a story, and a scene, a director and a setting, which will allow them to sparkle, as they did in the earlier episodes. We are watching this show for them.

And please don't forget, Sarasatichandra is after all a love story, so for heavens sake, do not digress !!

After yesterdays episode , one doesnt know what to expect ! Not too much to expect a certain logic, continuity ! Atleast the makers should have some sincerity towards a storyline, and so unfortunately they do it time and again with the best of serials ... Its just so sad!

Time to ask some Q's to SP - where is the Nayi Soch in a woman supposedly strong cowering in terror at her drunken husbands antics, being in denial that he is influenced but not accountable for his bad behaviour!!!

So disappointing to see such a bad potrayal, there are many young women who watch these serials and look at their take aways

1. Even married to a drunken lout, dont tell your parents anything, even if attempt to rape happens, dont leave the house - coz you are a sanskari girl... which sanskar i want to know teaches girls that they are to put up with it?

2. Mother in law being a woman, seeing another woman ill treated still does nothing other than a scolding,rebuke to her beloved son
