Hey guys,
I'm a little confused as to what people actually want to see in the show so here's me asking all of you how you would want this story to progress?
I personally think that the current story is going the right way and don't start throwing shoes at me but I have reasons behind why I'm good with it.
1. Kumud and Pramad are LEGALLY married.
2. Saras left her and told her to move on
3. So naturally, Kumud realising that this is her fate, decides to do the best with what she got.
4. She has to change Pramad or he'll just continue to abuse her.
5. Saras knows that he is partially behind the reason why she's ended up in this situation so he's trying to help her as much as possible (even though the poor guy is dying inside) but this also shows how much he still loves her!
6. Also let's think of it this way, say if Saras wasn't saved by Alak and he wasn't staying at Kumud's sasural then would you still want Kumud to be crying all her life and not trying to improve her relationship with Pramad because Saras was going to miracously turn up at her door and save her?
Even though it's a tv show, I still want storylines that are fairly realistic. I mean in reality, I don't support adultery so why would I support Kumud and Saras having an affair? It would go against their moral and religious values right? I think it's great that even though Saras isn't married to Kumud, he is still supporting her and she is sharing her problems with him because this is true love without it being spoiled by adultery. (Like Pramad and Kalika)
Well that's my opinion anyway but I would love to hear what you guys think :)

Intelligent views on the current situ in the story. I feel they have tackled it sensibly, some fans just want the couple to be physicallly close without appreciating the beauty in an abstract love. I feel they have more to work from in terms of saras inner turmoil, his conflicting feelings in his desire for kumuds happiness that being ideal saras n his desire for kumud to be with him that being his condition as a human being, which emotions reign over others, his enduring battle as he confronts reality where kumud is not his and married to another being called pramad
And I agree its unlikely so long as kumud is married that there would adultery in the proper sense of the word esp as its an idian show where such ideal characters are so called pure and beyond that, or you'll be cast a villain like kalika if ypu succumb to it, and its unfortunate that the show neglects the fact that these can be normal feelings aand are weaknessess a human might go through.

Hi Shegufta,
Agree with ur post and your views. We are not saying that samud should have romantic scenes while kumud is married- no way! As that would only taint not only their characters but their love too.

What us viewers would like to see however (and as per the novel) is the emotional attachment 'the SaMud EHSAAS' that has been the essence of the show. In the novel you read such beautiful phrases like 'every time saras is mentioned, kumuds heart skips a beat' is it so hard for the makers to make kumud show such emotions?

I can see true love from Saras in what he's doing for kumud but it looks like a one way street to me...

The novel,is not like that... Kumud looks after saras' needs indirectly through third parties.. But here we find her completely and totally ignoring him.

So yes, I would be happy to see this track if they had actually followed through the SaMud pure love angle on a parallel note. The novel never let's you forget the true and eternal love these 2 ppl share but the show has almost forgotten about it like a bad dream which is what is very disappointing to see and thus the anguish.

More than anything, it is the way scenes and dialogues are being written now...
With SLB's old team of director and writers, every scene and line had some depth and beauty...

Now you have Kumud exchanging accusations wit the maid in the kitchen, and that thali-dropping challenge was a new depth! ...How far has her character fallen!

The less said about Saras' state the better... he is general dogsbody and punching bag...

Other characters are picked up and dropped arbitrarily...Kusum knew Sunny ws looking desperately for Saras... Has she atleast told Sunny he is alive and well?

Kumud and Saras who are both paragons of honesty have been made to tell so many lies...

Generally weak script, for example why would Navin/Saras take Kumud to the market just because the maid suggested it? When you know the maid has been trying to trap them for days? remember the kamarbandh?

The attempts at making Pramaads' character less black and more grey are are just too much to swallow - Incredible excuses for Pramaad's waywardness...(100% Kalika's fault!!), and Desperate comparisons trying to equate the fine character of Saras with the depraved character of Pramaad are beyond belief.. all because they want to show that Kumud should still be trying to reform him...

But making an alcoholic and abusive man drink milk/ wear new clothes/go to the puja, you dont reform them - this is just misleading rubbish...

I completely agree! This is the main track of the actual novel Saraswatichandra. The Kumud-Kalika confrontations, Saras helping Kumud mend her fate, etc etc. The only thing which the makers have added is their attempts to make Pramad appear as a grey character, which may be a little a little illogical, but adds more spice to the story and is being liked by a lot of viewers. People expecting Saras and Kumud to behave all lovey-dovey towards each other have to realize that Kumud is married - it would be an insult to her character to show her trying to fix her marriage at one time, and thinking about Saras at another.

I do think that Saras' emotions should be showcased more, and this is my only reservation with the current track. His actions show how much he loves Kumud but I think we should have more scenes of him thinking about her or whatever. Besides that, I'm happy with the track.
