Dear Mr. Rode,

I have never been a "fan" before, not even been on Twitter before... But you are really special, so rather late in life I am in a fan club! And on Twitter, just to follow you... Wonder why?

You are a special person and a very rare breed of actor that inspires that kind of admiration in a wide range of people. Watching Saraswatichandra has been a revelation; where have you been hiding yourself, Mr. Rode? You remind me of a young Sanjeev Kumar who was a great actor as well, though unlike you, I suspect he never saw the inside of a gym :-)

Anyway, almost every night, I wonder how you turn out such a performance day after day. Hats off to you! We are all lucky that Mr. Bhansali found you to play the role of Saras... I have never followed any TV show so avidly. If you look at the bare bones of the story, that would have put most of the audience to sleep; but the way it has been scripted and presented, there are so many of us here that are totally addicted to it! The way you bring Saras to life, with all his flaws and frailties, yet so honest, straight and strong, we simply cannot not watch! Thank you, Gautam!

It is not only the acting that has won me over, you also seem to be a really nice guy off-screen, from whatever I have seen of your interviews, starting from long back (yes, we are that impressed that we dig up old material on you from the internet!). There is calmness at your center that held you together when things were not too great, and that is still in you, now that you've met with so much adulation. That is the other special thing about you, Gautam. Clearly, you have much to thank your parents for, not just your good looks!! :-)
