I think Jennifer is letting hubby dearest and his preferences dictate too much in her decisions. She even admitted as much in her TOI interview... Anyways, I'm delighted at some level that we are getting to see her full potential as an artist, rather than her limitations as someone's wife. Seems like the Creatives have realised that too... And thus have been playing Jenny to her strengths.
Gautam... No issues with this guy. Have immense respect for him as a person. And as an actor he gets into the skin of his character so well. He has a huge load on his shoulders... The whole show is named after him and he has been carrying that responsibility so damn well. No a fan of his but if I have to, I'll defend Gautam Rode, that's how much I've been impressed by the actor and character he has brought to life.
Redeeming Kumud... I so wish she sees him at her wedding... Bruised and bloody. That oughta give her a jolt. But being with Pramad and family will give her a huge jolt anyways... The way her in-laws were shown... Gunda types and all... With gunshots in the baraat procession... I don't think that is what either Kumud or her family dreamt for their darling daughter. You could see it clear in their faces.
The irony here is that Saras is rushing back because he fears he has made another woman like his mother, but Kumud is no Saraswati. She is much to strong for her own good and that will be her downfall. And Saras will rise from here onwards... In both the viewers eyes and in his own as well.
I cannot say much for desi telly serials as this is my first and was watching it only for the SLB touch, but I'm sure what I signed for was something new and not a re-hash of tracks from his previous films. Anyways m stuck in this show for now, and Gautam and Jennifer are mainly responsible for that.
