Arshi,
Nice post...
Meanwhile, 'Asmaan' once again...(noting here, as you might be expecting.)😊

As for separation, remember we had discussed book plot in one of CB thread? Well, serial plot is trying to follow the source. One by one, dots are falling in place. Final outline being a rift between Father and Son over a 'fault line'- created and labelled 'Kumud'- by Arch-foe Gumaan. Her weaves are subtle and multi-frontal this time, unlike previous strikes. Her target original weak link- LN! As In book, she sows venom in his mind, gets him to a diatribe against Kumud and Son 'Ram' is in moral dilemma; Father or honour of his innocent love!...remember, LN had an earlier brush with a doubt against Kumud, despite his fondness, while she spoke against him supporting VC...(that fight"s real 'aim').

yup...

read some spoilers for next week...looks like the theory is being followed...
http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3637334

arshi-
in the novel
- he commissioned a painting for kumud...here he gets busy renovating their room as per kumud's taste..
- he buys a diamond ring for her without telling anyone...here he impulsively visits gujarat to meet up with kumud without telling anyone
- LN loses the merger deal eventually because saras is distracted and gumaan has manipulated some of the events leading to the deal which was being set up by saras.
- in novel when confronted by his father saras acts impulsively...maybe here saras acts impulsively too and decides not to marry till he gets the deal back or some such notion...
- in novel after he takes a decison he leaves ratnanagri for another city...here if he decides to follow this path, my guess is he may decide to follow Mr. Lal to whatever country Mr. Lal came from.
- then there is the whole Umesh angle which has been kept alive & ampilified last epis...I only hope this creepy character does not become the eventual Pramad.. yuck!🤢...in the novel Pramad was a womanizer who had no interest in Kumud (smrth please suggest if this is correct)...here Umesh is already married and would have no interest in Kumud except to keep her from getting married to saras...

** p.s. Edit..
- I also noticed after they have fallen in love, kumud's character too has been subtly changed...gone is the fierce, proactive, independent, free-willed spirit..in her place we have a vulnerable, diffident, passive & reactive kumud...also more in line with the kumud from the novel (smrth again your inputs will be most welcome here)

...if this is the eventual reason for saras postponing marriage (duty / father's good books & wish before love just like ram - sita story) to me it will be very weak premise for a seperation...arre baccha a bird in hand is worth two in the bush...please tell LN you will marry her and then sort out the mess..

..but I guess losing LN's lifetime's best deal will be a bummer and will spoil the wedding mood, gumaan will manipulate saras who will act impulsively ...maybe / maybe not taking kumud into confidence before he takes a decision...

...I guess the storm is finally here now...

...the more I try to answer, the more depressing it is...but it seems the pieces have been set up..

...want to stop here...too many depressing thoughts..don't want a gloomy weekend...😭😭

All your alerts a true, creating rift is lot more easier now.
It is day6 now. All alerts are external obstacles.

What will make Kumud break that Vishwaas and marry someone else? Desai parivar hasn't let Dugba live with that creepy Sahas Rai, what can be the obligation to make them marry off Kumud to Pramad and stay in the marriage if it is not working out?

Story is yet to unfold, no clues in any tracks as such..

And I want smiling Kumud back.. You are making saras's life difficult.
Hey, Kumud, go and get sarees for yourself and family, learn from Sejal.

Adiani, very good point, all alerts are external obstacles, and how when will they become the insurmountable internal barrier is what we have to see.

Hotdogg and smrth have some interesting predictions based on parallels from the story on how Kumud Saras separation will happen.

Smiling Kumud - hmm, she is just like a normal girl in love, pehla pyaar, pehli judaai, so I am sure we will see the same spunky Kumud again

@smrth, hgg,

Hmm, we are in for depressing times ahead, the roller coaster is set on the edge of the high point, and it will be all downwards for the next leg of the ride.

Love your predictions and since the narrative seems to be following the original now, all this seems very possible now!

Great summary as always Arshi! 👏

First of all, I want to apologize for dying and then resurfacing! I had camp and then I got sick! Just finished all of this week's episodes today, and man oh man, what a week it has been! 😆

A side note to Happychappy --- we're gonna need this support group ASAP. We had time before, but the separation is getting closer and closer 😭

Indeed, today was an indication of future tracks. We got a notion of exactly how much trouble SaMud are going to land into. And their restlessness of being separated were so apt to real life. The constant worrying, the constant calling... staying up late for your loved one until you fall asleep... putting your lover as your number one priority. I believe all of these things are so apt because I've seen it happen around me personally. And unfortunately, these normal situations are being manipulated and exaggerated by Guman to such an extent--- and she's able to get away with it because she is, as you wonderfully said, on her home turf.

Today, we also got a larger sense of Laxminandan's characterization as well. We can see his expectations on his son, undoubtedly, but we can also see just how true he is to Tripathi's character in the volume. I can also see that, despite telling Kumud that she's going to be there in his family to create the same environment she created in her Ratnanagiri home, he himself has quite a bit of intolerance to Saras' distraction... which is contrary to his previous wishes, as he, himself, wished for Saras to open up and live life, laughing and playing all the way til the end of it. He is very business-minded, and already I'm getting a bad feeling about what the consequences would be if Saras misses out on this deal. 😔

All in all, brilliant foreshadowing by the CVs, brilliant connections to the volume.. I haven't read the books, but rather, a long summary of them, and the connections between the summary and the show are so blatant, I'm impressed! 👏 😳
And what wonderful observations and synthesis by you again, Arshi! 🤗

Great insights Veera, esp on LNs characterization. His attitude was confusing me a change after LN of ratnanagri, and your post solved it .

In ratnanagri he was temporarily the LN of ratnanagri, and once back in Dubai he is the ruthless LN of Dubai who puts his business first.

Thanks, look forward to more such insights and analysis from you

* 'original/spoiler alert*
Hgg,
Some observations;
In original, he renovates a Bunglow- one of the two, three spares they had in Walkeshwar Mumbai ( till date, poshest Gujarati Address in Mumbai, as well one of the highest realty in India). He installs her portrait there ( incidentally, scene of another 'weird' scene in the End- don't want to speak🤢 ). Though I don't see its any contemporaneous topicality in this adaptation. So no portrait perhaps.
About Diamond ring, I still see a use here. Had put a 'ring theory' in last CB...in nutshell, if SC overturns father's choice (a groom's prerogative, not his father's), Gumaan may further instigate LN, as an imagined insult??
In Novel, he leaves Mumbai, their home ( not RN). He slips in the night, escaping vigil of Chandrakant/Sunny, who was concerned and alert that SC may take some such drastic 'step' after that father- son confrontation. (Prior engagement, he has some thoughts about renouncing the wealth etc. shared these thoughts with the friend. Though, this point- sanyas/ spirituality is void in serial). And NOW he posts that 'famous' rescinding letter to Kumud, asking her 'not to wait'!!...Now this is majorly altered here as we know. Plus he won't renounce Kumud now. PMS does not permit a moral freedom now...so I have other theory how they are weaving other points in the separation. Need to see one, two confirmations in coming episodes...but am not seeing him chasing Mr.Lal, let's see...

hotdogg, i beg to differ here, i am glad that they r following the novel, if well executed it can become a beautiful story of love and sacrifice..now the real story begins..instead of being depressed we should enjoy the roller coaster ride of saras and kumud's muqammal mohabbat ki adhoori dastan...
