For those who cannot read and understand Gujarati.

Gujarati viewers will write a warning letter to SLB for showing unrealistic and indecent story in the name of the novel...

Thanks for sharing :) Just read the article and I always thought Divya Bhaskar articles were strong opinionated. I never really believe their articles as they are pretty much sensationalized like all other media outlets. And being a gujarati myself I must say with much dismay that we live in a hypocritical society. I too am a pretty conservative individual in my thoughts but have learned to adapt to change.

For one and most importantly , this show although based on the novel is a modern adaptation for which SLB has indicated he has bought rights. So then what is people's problem? I mean, it's not like PMS does not occur in India amidst young and old couples. They just never let it surface as they are afraid of the taboo which it is considered.

PS. Do not mean to offend anyone. Feel free to share your thoughts 😃

People have a problem because SLB has manipulated the classic novel which is the landmark novel of the Gujarati Literature.

If he wanted to show modern stories, he could have written his own. By saying that he has adapted SC, he just wanted to attract the Gujarati audience and nothing else.

For one and most importantly , this show although based on the novel is a modern adaptation Yes...Its an adaptation. Thats why the people are opposing. Adaptation means 99% same and 1% change and that should be within the limits of the novel... But, here...its 99% SLB's own and only 1% of the original novel..just the names of the characters. for which SLB has indicated he has bought rights. So then what is people's problem? I mean, it's not like PMS does not occur in India amidst young and old couples. They just never let it surface as they are afraid of the taboo which it is considered.

Slb loves retelling old classics in his own way...till now slb had never had any original story...he always gets inspired by th classics and then retells them in his own grand romantic style

There is nothing wrong in it. We all get inspired by classics and stories we hear and then want to retell it in our own way ...just the way we want it to be ...specially the tragic once where we want to relive those great emotional and passionate moments and then want a happy ending to it.

Infact its a great work and helps the classic and SLB both. SLB gets a well known platform to retell his story and Classic gets a chance to be relived again in newer form amongst common people rather then be left in some old library to be read only by literary scholars and historians

Original Classic will always exist but a desire to retell it is as natural and by no means wrong 😊

The summary is: The Gujarati readers of Govardhan ram Tripathi (Author of SC) are angry at SKB for showing PMS and other issues which are NOT as per the novel. So, they all will write a letter to SLB to change the story line and show some kind of decency in the show.
