Hmm, Juhi, I forgot about her. Guman has quite an army of potential bad ones. Wedding track, jealousy track, following the formula, aren't we?

Mandy,

The episode didn't work too much for me, but maybe because I saw it on my laptop, with an extremely slow net connectivity that kept breaking, so the 22min. Epi, took me a frustrating 1 hr 25 mins to see.

So probably poor Samud had to bear the brunt of my frustration with the net, as it is i still had the the fight hangover, I did not forgive them as easily as they forgave each other!

I am also wondering, how cvs wud combine above two? For their biggest trump card - haveli mortgage and (Kumud's property/legacy to her in original) at LN end- is already exhausted. Any guess on the following clues from original? I am not able to join the dots here...

After his return from RN, with awakened mutual feelings...There, an altercation between father- son, obviously instigated by Gumaan, was the reason for his flight from the home and rejection letter ( it was sent THEN). It came about over multiple allegations; chief being creation of that legacy and a flourishing business from that estate ( there handled by SC) overlooking Dhan Nandan's ( Denny, Gumaan's son) interest, and last but not least, extravagance on his great muse Kumud- a huge Diamond ring😛 specially commissioned Picture of hers😲😃 by expensive artists and done in a costly antique frame, in a separate Bunglow in Walkeshwar...so how Cvs will bring about all these in modernised adaption? It's fun to guess...besides, notice this, LN is riled somewhat over Kumud's defiance. She may yet apologise in shorter term but scar may stay...

Thanks again Samarth, the insights from the book - I love them,

All these are my queries too, what will Guman do?

A diamond ring, or a painting, are no big deals for 10,000 crore the malik

My mom said that in the movie, Saras was accused of being a wastrel and not adding to family wealth,

Here this situation is also not correct. His business acumen has been lauded time and again

So at this point there seems to be no weapons that Guman can use against Saras and LN

They were both so relieved to get their friendship back after the squabbles,... Great acting by both, with the relief pouring out of them in laughter..."

Wow, very well said happychappy! It was a cute scene

😆 Arshi! It is still a compliment to the SC team that they can get the Discerning Viewer to care so much... 😃

Oh yes, happychappy, no opinion is the worst opinion about a show!

That's the day a show is over for you.

The fact that we hate something about it, shows how much we care about it and want to be a part of it!

Samarth, a part of me hopes that they do read our feedback, but actually I feel, they should not read fan feedback , or rather, having read it, they should take it with a pinch of salt.

Sometimes, when you read fans feedback, and get influenced by it, it can be detrimental. The course of the story can be altered to a more populist one, and this in the long run is damaging.

So be tuned to the viewers yes, but allow feedback to alter the story - umm. I don't know , again the purist in me doesn't approve of fans dictating what they want to see

Each story after it starts takes on a life and a course of its own, and that's what brings continuity and fluidity to narration. To tamper with it may do more harm than good

Arshicritic,
Your observation is correct as the basic story goes. Feedback driven conceptions can not stay really creative. They may not hold coherent or appealing after a time.
I also agree with useful corrections...as I see, any conception, when unfolding in such serialised instalments, may well use feedback towards refining the execution. Especially if some thing starts veering to far away from the 'conception'
But this particular point, the one I am so 'noisy' about, and a well known fact, is by all account a sore compromise on integrity of the conception itself. More deep the analysers go in there, more incongruent it transpires. As for the diligent purity, arshiji, we have already veered far off in majorly important aspects. For example, in unrecognisable adaption of Vidya Chatur and such fading of Guniyal- author's one of the finest characterisations (here supplanted in Dukhbaa) many nuances of tales are already expended. But I think we should leave it at the moment as you point out. I agree with its import.😊

@ bold,
Is this so in movie?? Then looks like, movie too had tempered much with original. Original SC was vastly successful in very young age. Actually his 'success' was one major point that Gumaan harped on. Instigating LN, " Now you are sidelined and all are looking up to new master. He is more important than you now!"...
In book, he was extra ordinary brilliant, winner of toughest scholarships, youngest barrister in Mumbai High court (in that age, equivalent of today's IIM A?). Though he chose to run textile baron Father's business and became more successful there...besides extra ordinary looks he was remarkably proficient in literature circle of Mumbai; both Gujarati and English...as given in book.

I think, i have not been able to convey the import of original here. Arshicritic, even in original, a big diamond or commissioned portrait are not a big deal for a textile baron who had two, three spare bungalows in Walkeshwar- till this age, top address for a Gujarati milieu. The emphasis is on the idea. In late 19th century Diamonds are not as commonplace as today. Though merchant barons were becoming familiar with the trend, they were still exclusive. As well, commissioning portraits from well known court artists (someone like Ravi Varma) was an aristocratic whim even then.

As for today and a 10K cr. fortune, well a bauble like GIA cert 3-4 ct. D Flawless might not make any dent for LN. But what wud be the 'replacement'? Even LN presented a 'watch' (He must already have gifted Rolls or Ferrari, wouldn't he?😆)
Something like a swapped in shares from Saraswati's estate as a capital infused in the business named for Kumud? That wud be too technical here, right? So I am also wondering what would they come up with?🤔
