Wow... well said! 😊I agree with you completely. Kumud has that intelligence, thoughtfulness, courage and conviction which set her apart not only from many female leads, but also from her family in general. What I would also like to mention is that there is a humble, modest quality even in Kumud's pride and ego. Yes, she is very proud of herself for her achievements, no doubt, but she doesn't tend to rub her achievements and her goodness in other people's faces. Recall today, how Guman was glaring at her at the dinner table. Kumud is fully aware, from her talk with Saras previously, that Guman had essentially done nothing to ease Saras' pain from his Maa's death. She is fully aware that Guman doesn't really care about her son, yet she kept a calm, serene facial expression as she watched Guman squirm at Saras' and LN's growing communication. She didn't let her pride get in the way and do anything which hinted she was challenging Guman, or if there was a competition between them. Not only that, but Kumud doesn't allow others to step all over her as well. Remember how she said "main koi cheez nahin" to Guman during the mooh-dikhayi scene? If she really feels like someone's getting her wrong, she speaks out, but she does it not in a forceful, defensive manner, but in a manner of calculated authority. And there was a modesty there too, because of the way she presented herself, and in the way she spoke to Guman.Long ramble short, I completely agree with you! Kumud is a very strong character, and when I think about it, it's very easy to see why Saras is sometimes slightly intimidated by her. 😆
