Discussion. This forum has been very slow lately. What do you think is more important in a relationship, love or respect? Both?

This comes from the article on SC that so acutely Kumud and Saras' relationship right now as one of mutual respect. In today's world of relationships, there's not enough talk of respect and many shows don't focus on this important aspect of a relationship. But Sanjay's shows has always has a big emphasis on respect which is why I believe he's such a unique entity in Bollywood. That's what sets his stories apart from the rest.

Your thoughts?

i finally caught up with the episodes of the past few weeks and feel i can rightfully comment now.
love and respect are symbiotic.but if there is love, respect is essential however, it is not necessarily true for the other way round because i can respect a person even if i don't love-love them and i mean it not only from a romantic aspect but in a broader sense.
saras and kumud have immense respect for each other as individuals. and i think it's an integral part of their amorous feelings as well. like the time kumud helped him with the prayaschit and he felt so obliged that a sensuous act followed, or the instance when saras persuades vc in attending the puja in the wedding anniversary and kumud can't stop staring at him. it's hard to tell the two feelings apart in their case and that's their essence as a pair.

Totally agree. For long term relationships it is more important because love can alter when you are angry but respect doesn't.
