LIFE PULLED ME HERE
Q. Say something about your role in brief.
A. Saraswatichandra is a truthful man. He respects his elders. He doesn't care about what people say about him. He takes the blame of others on him. Then too he doesn't say this to anybody and hides everything inside his heart.
Q. What is the similarity between Gautam and Saraswatichandra?
A. 99% both are similar. I personally too respect elders and I become helpful to everyone. I too visit temples and pray…in every case I am similar to Saraswatichandra. Only one thing that isn't similar is…Saraswatichandra never speaks his heart out but I personally cannot hide anything inside my heart.
Q. To play the central role how much extra pressure you take?
A. For me every role is the same. I do not differentiate between small or big roles. But I just play every role which brings out that quality in it.
Q. Viewers those who have seen the episodes till now, what kind of praise do you get?
A. (Getting emotional) Very Very good…..Till now it has been lots of happiness. In few weeks only Saraswatichandra has become the No. 1 show, and on the other side as a host of Non-fiction show, "Nach Baliye" also got too many applauds. For one actor this is the biggest happiness then anything.
Q. When Sanjay Leela Bhansali comes on the sets how is his reaction?
A. He comes on the sets very rare. I interact more with the Series Director Arvind Babbal. He told me that I was only his first choice. What can you expect more than this?
Q. Say something about your family?
A. My family is very small. My father was a staff broker but now retired. Mom is a housewife. Both first used to stay in Delhi but now are staying with me in Mumbai. I have an elder married sister in Delhi.
Q. How did you entered the acting industry?
A. I didn't wanted to enter this industry. But my life pulled me here. I thought that I would handle my father's business when I grow old. When I passed out my college till then my father retired. Before my career started I did Modelling. But one time came that I wasn't even able to pay the rent of the room in Mumbai. This helplessness pulled me in the acting industry. When I started acting at that time I felt a bit good. Slowly slowly my interest in acting increased and I reached here now.
Q. Till now how much ups and downs u faced?
A. I faced many ups and downs. After working in serials like 'Rishtey', 'Jahan Pyar Mile' and one film called 'Anarth', then too in the year 2003-04 I didn't had any work. One time came when I didn't had any money in my pocket. I used to even think about what to eat now. Then in 2005 I was offered a role in 'Baa Bahoo aur Baby' and 'Lucky' serials. After this I became busy in films and serials.
Q. What kind of role what you like to play in future?
A. I do not think that big. I just talk about reality. Right now it is also not like that I have too many roles in my kitty. And also not like that I do not have any role too. I just choose from what I get. But yes I am always concerned about what I get to play. I am concerned about what role I am playing, who is the maker of the serial and on which channel is the serial telecasted.
