So the storm came and devastated everything in one blow, as promised.. I am glad that Saras knows its his devil of a mother who was behind it.. Thank you VC for letting Saras know that the ''saazish'' of throwing a surprise party to seal their relationship was Guman's idea.. He has just known her a cold, insensitive mother who doesnt care about her son, atleast not when she's genuine and not being her nautanki self.. But now he knows and in the upcoming episodes he will know more about her.. That woman has a motive !! She nurtures hatred like people nurture love..she nurtures it and uses it destroy her enemy.. Her first plan was foiled by Kumud quite unintentionally.. Saras got released from jail and she couldn't instigate LN against VC .. This time she had to win at any cost, so she informed VC about the truth before Kumud or Saras could reach him...

VC is devastated on so many levels.. I empathise with him today.. The man was on seventh heaven since the proposal came.. Kumud, the apple of his eyes, his pride, was going to get married to his best friend's son.. He had begun to admire Saras like his own son,the perfect husband for his Kumud, perfect son in law for him and Guniyal.. The hurt is unfathomable..What is killing him from inside is that his Kumud has to go through this pain.. He is angry at her for not telling him before.. Not allowing him to sooth her when she was hurting herself..Its not just betrayed trust..its the hurt of the lack of confidence his own daughter and wife showed in him.. The lack of confidence in believing that he could support them and protect them.. He is the patriarch of the family..Its his responsibility to protect his family from any problems that comes their way.. Why did Kumud step up and take that role and hurt herself in the process? Guniyal, his wife, has always been his silent supporter..even she couldnt trust him to deal with this problem? why? Well, because its love and care that makes us want to protect our loved ones from any hurt.. Guniyal and Kumud had been doing exactly that..

Saras is tearing up from within watching Kumud in this state. When she was on her knees, apologising he had to control himself from reaching out to her and picking her up...She was in extreme pain and he was feeling every bit of it..Its showed..This was coming for her..she knew it was..maybe thats why she was getting more restless to tell the truth.. But fate would have it this way..We may keep on debating ''whose fault is it ?'' Logically speaking everyone shares the blame and there are no measures or ranks..The bottom line is they all wanted to protect each other from hurt..

The drama has NOW begun..!!!

P.S- I was interested to watch Dukhba's reaction..There will be a showdown with LN, Guman and Dukhba in one frame some day and I would love Dukhba to give it back to both of them in no half measures.. For now its one on one with Guman and she has thrown an open challenge.. she will not let history repeat itself... She gave her 2 cents to Saras too.. '' heartaches are very difficult to deal with..dont give one to my Kumud...''

Agree with everything Vaishali...the only thing I felt was not justified was the way Guniyal blamed Saras...it was not right because she went along with the whole thing knowing from day one and chose to keep quiet. She did scold Kumud couple of times that it was wrong to have asked Saras to come to India and her ego would be her downfall one day. But she cannot blame Saras alone...everyone had a part in it.

Well... its a reaction coming from a hurt mother and wife.. She thinks all this wouldn't have happened if Saras wrote the letter to VC instead of writing it to Kumud..The matter would have ended then and there.. But like they say, one can not fight destiny.. This is how it was meant to be.. I am glad for one thing ... In this whole blame game.. Saras and Kumud are there for each other.. Her pain , her tears is ripping him from inside..Even Kumud who was crying her eyes out over the fact that she lost her father's trust, got hurt for Saras when her mother turned him away... her pain got doubled... ooo piyaaa sounded so painful today...both male and female version :(

@ Vaishali-AR,
A fine, balanced post...
As I am recently retreading the novel in my spare time, having had a unsatisfactory, fleeting read some years ago, without crossing a spoiler I would like to share an observation on bold underlined in your post. And from the outset, you are right on objective level of serial's line...
Actually there are several deviations from 'source conformity' POV. That's between adaption and book. Not that an adaption has to confirm diligently to a source, but makers here are altering many aspects, it may soon cease to relate and stand alone on its own. One notable deviation is Guniyal. In original she was not only powerful, finely etched, and central for considerable part of the tale ( as young newly wed) that sometime readers liked her better than Kumud. (my mother is one). Though no one is asking for that detailed reflections or her story here, but makers are reducing a fine character into caricature. In book it was she who had kept such a vast family intact. Even more, setting one by one on correct course while VC was mostly at loss on how to tackle the domestic problems. Her personal sacrifices were great and without much fuss or display. Her astute intelligence and subtle management had seen family through many crises. So much so that Manchatur (VC's father) had commented, " only light in my dismal family". VC had always revered and respected her- fondly conferring nick name, ' Mari Guniyal'...the point is, she had an important role there- with a 'reason'. Today when script puts a dialogue in her mouth," we had run such a vast family for so many years". The original contexts are not only lost, but turned upside down in VC's pointed angry finger on her. That was implacable with original, as well reducing...
