Especially Kumud because she has the spunk that is so lacking in the leading ladies of most television soaps.. And I love Saras too.. I see a lost and lonely child in him who hasn't had anyone to really look up to or guide him in life other than his long deceased mother's memories.. This post was only intended as my critical analysis of who was to be blamed for the current fiasco.. I do not intend to hurt anybody's sentiments and definitely not "bash" any of the characters.. 😊

Tm,
By no means I have perceived your post as a 'Kumud- bashing' post. I had clearly acknowledged your prime aim, and as such, I deny any 'hurt' filling on account of any 'Kumud bashing'. For I did't find any of the later and hence none of the former.
Having said this, and respecting your POV, I still maintain a flaw in the analysis that Kumud's hurt ego was responsible, up to an extent, to 'challenge him to come and reject her in front of her family'. (For I well remember that episode, subtlety of which has spurred me to post an analysis of my own. http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3482066&PID=78080125&#78080125 )

In that Internet call, at very outset she told him, "I would forgive you if it were only me, for that (I) does not matter. But not for an uncalled for arousal of a father's hopes, or unsolicited RIDICULE TO MY FATHER'S PRESTIGE ('mere bapu man hi man Vida kar chuke he mujhe... Unka kitna aapman hoga ') for this I will not forgive you.." Here, she clearly outlined reasons for her anger. To yet trace this anger to a slighted ego (maybe in small part) is subjective interpretation not based on the scenes showed nor in tune with an upright, steady disposition that has been sketched of her so far. So 'fury' was definitely that of a righteous anger and not of a 'scorned hell', I believe.
After this, the premise that her slighted vanity has caused her to challenge and dare ( some others- not you- went as far as 'invitation'!!) him to 'come' would not stand. Watch again. She clearly told him to speak to HIS father first (why had he asked her to sort out the matters from her end in the first place?). And if he was incapable of convincing His father, THEN ONLY, come, ask forgiveness for the affront and quash the proposal (get relieved) in Gujarat. So no, vanity was not chief reason...
In fact, apart from 'pain in his eyes' before rejection, what she additionally identified in him, post rejection letter, was 'a fear of relationships'. This too, she told him upfront, " facing the 'life/relationships' is far better than weakly escapism." A fear, which he himself acknowledged as rooted in untenable (other than in a preconceived fiction) superstitions. Not a strong mind- indeed a forlorn child. Your analysis there is spot on.
Other points are well analysed and well presented. Enjoyed reading them. Thanks.😊
