So I've always wanted publishing houses to sell Hindi serials on DVD like many American TV shows are (i.e. all ten seasons of FRIENDS) but I guess since Indian serials are longer (some running 5days/week for years and years) it makes sense why some shows aren't turned onto boxed DVD sets. However, I just saw that DMG is fully available on Youtube thanks to STAR's brilliant idea of putting up some of their classics (đ) . If only some other channels started doing the same.
Anyway, I was wondering if we can ask Star to put up Saraswatichandra epis in the same manner. Starting something like this would ensure that we can revisit our fave show/epis for years to come. Having Star publish them itself ensures that they won't be deleted later and it makes it SO MUCH easier to find full epis in order. Of course for an ongoing/current show the episodes should not be uploaded right after they are aired (maybe delaying them a month or so to ensure people are still tuned to their TVs... I don't want TRPs to go down!), but having a stable source would be fantastic.
Any thoughts? Anyone know how I could propose something like this to Star? (I already emailed hello@startv.com).
