So he accepts that he loves KS and therefore does not want to go accept it , would rather deny since he is so rooted with this thought in mind that all whom he loves will not only go far away from him but also suffer!!!
Finally - indirectly he now knows that he loves her... that love will manifest itself as he protects KS from his mom and from whatever else comes their way!!! An amazing protector of those he loves ... he knows he has a protector too in the fiery lioness KS...
Both of them together on the screen bring a palpable heartbeat to the scene, a vulnerability that is endearing, yet heart breaking to watch how both of them who have already connected at the deepest level are yet to realise that.
