One quick thing about the change in Saras today. For the first time today, he felt close enough and comfortable with someone besides Sunny to be himself with. He's not vulnerable and worried that he will be rejected. He's not super nice and obliging. He's just himself, bickering, teasing, fighting with Kumud like family. You know, family, the ones who we hurt knowing that we will make up eventually 😃. Wife!
Saras goes on mean mode with what he really considers his own ☺️. He doesn't realize it yet but this friendship with Kumud is so secure that he can be mean to her and bicker with her without worrying that she will leave him too. For example, he's momentarily annoyed when she leaves his side at the bazaar and tells her to leave more often (lashing out, oh that reminds me, lashes!) so that he can sell his matkas. He tells his nagging girl to sush 😲! He teases her about being late because she was at mandir asking for a good husband - ok, dude, maybe you think she already has one on hold (YOU!) or you are too lost in the new-found friendship to realize she can be GONE if you don't act fast and get possessive.
She takes his side no matter what and she holds him up, she doesn't let him slouch in sadness or rejection like he's used to doing around his parents. In Kumud's own word, she won't let him lose. Internally, he knows that too.
