It is amazing how Saras understands the feelings of the people who hate him for the right reason, but when he manages to win their hearts, or even clear the misunderstading, he somehow takes a back step...refusing to be attached.somehow feels that the attachment will again hurt him...Just like he came running from Dubai to Ratnanagri...to understand the woman who hated him and had absolutely no compunctions in telling him so...but when he comes here...and he sees Kumud leaning towards him...he backs off...literally tries to run away...Right now he is trying the same (err not exactly the same..) with Ilaben..he is trying to make her accept him and his punishment...and he is understanding all her vent too...
Something to do with the phobia? That his mother's death caused...anyone who is near to him, goes far far away...and probably that is why he understands people's losses...he stands by them...but is unwilling to share his ownself...and that is why perhaps he got more angry on Kumud than he should be when Kumud made him go into the water and face the ghosts of past...may be because deep down he knew that his heart is a goner, and he wont be able to retrace his steps, if he did not take the shelter of his anger..and that is what he has been trying to do...but then he is trying to challenge Kumud...who is the same as he is...albeit more practical and more determined than he is...
Though Phobic or not...there is something magical in that stare...when he watches Kumud...it is almost like he goes into a medititive stage..
And I love how the Cameraman catches his beauty in every frame...The DoP (Director of Photography) is in love with his subject I tell you...he portrays Saras better than Kumud...Just see this one...Isn't something very vulnerable in this barefoot stance of his, when he feels her coming and turns around to see her enter...??
That was one cute misunderstanding that our Sanyasi had na??? His whole attention so on her face that he forgot to see that she was carrying the tiffin and everything?? He himself wanted that clear vision of her face so much that when she told him to take hold of the luggage in her hands, he took hold of her hair...š
I just love how he watches her face..as if trying to frame it in his mind...etch it...embed it...every fine line ..every small detail..Even when she told him to let go ...he devours her face ...his eyes actually roam around her face like making a detour...see...
...It is amazing how is generally an above average intelligent person, but the moment he comes into her periphery, he kind of loses his mind...Literallyš The level of concentration with which he was fixing her hair behind her ears, he looked like he was sculpting his dream idolš³
I love how he then points towards the other side of her open hair..as if telling her 'He is the culprit' ...and goes on to put him behind bars...err I mean her ears...doing it as if he is doing the most important thing in the world...it is this minor things...which makes our heart goes out to them..caught between the worlds of differences, oppositions and impossibilities, and in between fighting for others and taking the blame of others...these two do find a world of their own...a world which is as simple as the deed of tucking your hair behind your ears, yet so special...
I also kind of like how he doesnot absolutely mind when Kumud takes over and manages to make Ilaben eat the food...although he did voice his concer over not sending the child to school...
Needless to say I fast forwarded all the Guman scenes...no offence but I really get bugged off by her presence on screen...
And anyways I am more interested in viewing how Saras is developing...Love how both fight but put aside their difference, when it comes to Ilaben...and it is done so tacitly ...without any need of words...
I also love how Saras keep changing From being Ghonchu to challenging...it is fun..because when he fumbles, she is the one in command...and when she does...he likes to watch her squirm...
I love how he likes her in her challenging mode...the moment when she goes on back foot and then turn around stronger...
Loved absolutel LOVED the slight widening of his eyes, when she turned around to answer him back...after he told her to tie her hair properly because they hide her face...this one was pure playful Saras..as if waiting for her ignore what he said..or may be fumble grumble...but then he knows she is hid Kumud...and she has to rise to that bait..and she does...
And that is what he loves about her too..Just loved how an all knowing smile was growing on his face when she told him that her hair are not going to fly as per his whim, and at that precise moment, they do...
...They both know...it is a tug of wills..and neither is going to back down...
Then again the night scene...I love how Saras never gives up..it must be frustrating..seeing your creations destroyed by the person, for whose benefit you are trying to make it...and yet he still does understand her view point and never sits back...it is still more amazing how in the midst of all those depresssing thoughts ...Kumud's entry make him smile...
I love this shot...it is kind of like he goes into meditation thinking about him...and she comes right as if out of his dreams...
