I am not perfect, so shoot me! But can you aim right?!

This was exactly what the villagers and the head priest did by sentencing Saras for committing a cardinal sin (falsely accused to begin with) but failed to direct their attention towards something that was of bigger importance- a sin of taking a false oath!! The guy was taunted left and right, his values were questioned, his love and compassion for his deceased mother was targeted unnecessarily while what was much apparent was neglected conveniently!

I also loved how the entire episode brought out the theme of "mothers and their values" in different shades:

A) Saras's deceased mother- She may be dead but her values are very much alive and Kumud slammed that truth on everyone's face brilliantly! For Saras, Yash's coward act of taking a false oath of his mother mattered more than anything else and who could understand the "value" of mother more than him!?!

B) Yash's mother- Then here is another mother who despite knowing the truth failed to expose it to others and rather helped her guilty son to flee the scene! Yash was not just guilty of the index offence (drinking/driving and killing the cow) but was also about to commit another blunder at the cost of his mother's life yet that same mother stood by his wrongs! If that was not enough, her conscience allowed her to witness an innocent guy facing punishment for something he had not even done!

C) Kumud's mother- Oh I loved her today! She has instilled great values in Kumud but today, she goes another mile by supporting her daughter to voice her opinion against the wrong and help that innocent guy on humanitarian basis! Her choice of words and way of articulating that advice was commendable; she encourages Kumud to help Saras but also advises her not to forget the reality of the fact that their relationship has been severed. What kind of mother would want her daughter to fight for the guy who has rejected her and what kind of girl would support a guy after facing a blunt rejection from him? But this mother-daughter duo did- VALUES overruled personal conflicts!!

Point C - BRILLIANT ! Not that I dont agree with point A and B. But you summed up the mother daughter scene so beautifully. Guniyal is very fair, practical and most of all she is such a supportive mother..Kumud is lucky to have parents like them..

Great Post! Kumud's mom is a rare diamond. I am amazed that she still supported Kumud, even though she knows the whole truth and how hurt Kumud was. Her advice to her daughter and the way she still cautioned kumud...just amazing. Kumud parents have pure hearts! And yash's mom... she is a total goner and a drama queen. As you said yash not only was driving drunk, but also lied. And there she was hiding his mistakes and creating drama!

Guniyal is an amazing mother...so much understanding between the two...unlike the badi maa, who i am really starting to dislike after seeing the new promo...she loves kumud so much but she dus not understand that her beloved daughter would not do anything wrong while helping saras...and kumuds mum was amazing in that too and stood by her daughter and trusted her all through badi maas rants...Love their relationship...😃

brilliant post dear...every single point you made is so true..in a single episode we got to witness "the three mothers"...one who isn't physically alive yet is alive in the form of her son and his culture, one who is so fair, so practical, so kind-hearted and so supportive that despite knowing how her daughter might suffer, she encourages her to help the guy for the sake of humanity and another one who is so selfish that she can see an innocent guy who is so badly accused for no fault of her in order to save her own son who definitely is at fault!!!

Nice topic. ESP. Agreeing to point c. Adding on Guniyal, which I have written elsewhere too...

'Anyone who has a vague idea of original would witness this, in there too Gun Sundari aka Guniyal had always been a powerful prototype from where Kumud's sensitivity has been derived and nourished. Young Guniyal's growth was a powerful sub story in the original. Glad, Director is giving some justice to the original here.'😊

This is why I want you to post more dude!! You observe things so brilliantly and I'm sure no-one else really thought of these parallels you have made. I certainly did not! But it's so true. All 3 kids are a reflection of what their mothers. One pair is selfless, the other is cowardly and the last is righteous.

Brilliant Amii...simply brilliant!👏
